Hike to one of Eastern Sardinia's most beautiful and iconic beaches on this guided coastal hike to from Cala Gonone to Cala Luna Beach. Swim at this pristine cove that is nestled in the Gulf of Orosei. See the Pinnettas (ancient shepherds' hut) and look for local flora and fauna.
Be picked up from your accommodation in Orosei or Dorgali in a spacious Land Rover. Park at Cala Gonone and be greeted by a commanding view of the Gulf of Orosei and the “Pinnettas” sheepfolds, one of the area's many distinguishing features.
Begin your journey through an endless expanse of sea to the east and the wilderness of the mountains to the west. Cross rugged screes, ancient bridleways, and pathways shaded by old juniper trees as you descend the karstic gorge.
Breathe in the fragrance of Mediterranean shrubbery and have the chance to gaze up at startled wild pigeons as they feel peregrine falcons. Continue along the dried-up streambed, passing small lakes, granite boulder and pink oleanders until your reach the broad gorge of Codula di Luna.
Arrive at Cala Luna Beach to view the wide caves dotting the beach. Jump into the sea and cool off with a swim. Take out the lunch you brought and eat at picnic while the waves lap the shore.
Start on the return hike which requires more of an uphill climb or have the option to purchase a relaxing boat ticket back to the port of Cala Gonone. Return to your accommodation at the end of your tour.
