What you can expect

Escape the fast-paced life of Tokyo with a day trip to Kamakura, Japan’s ancient capital and a historic centre for the Samurai. This tour offers a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Begin your day at Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Kamakura’s most significant Shinto shrine. Enter through its grand torii gate and be welcomed by tranquil ponds and meticulously landscaped gardens, setting a serene tone for your visit. Take your time to enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of this sacred site.

Next, immerse yourself in the local culture with a stroll down Komachi Street, a lively shopping avenue full of charm. Sample fresh seafood, savour traditional snacks, and browse unique souvenirs while soaking in the vibrant ambiance. Enjoy lunch at one of the many eateries along the street.

Continue your journey to Hase-dera Temple, renowned for its impressive eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy. Explore the temple’s peaceful grounds, featuring stunning gardens and tranquil ponds, offering a moment of calm and reflection.

Then, visit Kotoku-in Temple to marvel at the Great Buddha of Kamakura. This monumental bronze statue, standing over 11 metres tall, is both a symbol of the city and a testament to Japanese craftsmanship.

Wrap up your day with a visit to Enoshima, a picturesque island west of Kamakura. Discover its charming shrines, enjoy sweeping ocean views from various vantage points, and unwind in the serene surroundings, making it a perfect and scenic end to your day.

This is the best tour I’ve taken and I’ve been on quite a few. It was very well organized. Transportation was great. Our guide, Koji, was beyond amazing! He was very approachable and knowledgeable . I absolutely loved every one of the 4 stops on this tour. It includes so many gorgeous views and photo opportunities.

I’m glad to be able to give an opinion about this tour! It was so special! It took place on a day when it was heavily snowing and when I arrived to the bus, our guide Koji received us with A huge smile and great humor! He made the trip amazing! I mean it! He know a lot about the places and he was even telling us stories/tales about Japanese culture. It’s impressive how much a person can turn a day for a group of people. The trip was FUN, INTERESTING and very very recommendable!!!!!! Thank you again Koji for your attitude and for sharing so much about your culture with us🙏🏼

Really nice trip. Some stops felt a bit rushed, but it's the only way you can fit in so many things to do in just one day. Overall had a great time.

definitely recommend this trip although first stop could be slightly shorter so more time in second temple and at great Buddha as these seemed rushed. the guide informative and friendly

Extremely long day. Way too much time was allotted at each stop which results in a late start back to Tokyo. The trip back took twice as long because of traffic. Bus didn't have charging so that was annoying. Other guests were super loud and held up the entire group by not returning on time. If you have literally nothing else to do while in Tokyo, take this tour. Otherwise it felt like a wasted day.

Yesterday’s excursion experience was great. We had a fantastic time and saw a lot of things. Our guide, Yuki, who accompanied us, was very friendly, and the driver did an excellent job driving us around. Everything was very smooth and relaxed. The only thing I would improve would be to reduce the time at the first stop and perhaps increase it on the island at the last stop. I would also suggest adding USB chargers on the bus since, being such a long excursion, you run out of battery during the trip.

The tour was amazing! They made it easy to know when to be back to the bus, information about what we were going to view, & were very nice. Tour was nice to get out of the city, off your feet a little bit.
