Here, you will have a pizza lunch, paired with wine tastings. The Four Winds Story began with a miner and his wife who lived on the property in a slab-hut. Her name was Scheherazade, after the storey telling character in The Arabian Nights. Her favourite storey described a magic carpet being borne by the four winds of good fortune. She named this small farm in Murrumbateman ‘Four Winds’ in the hope it would carry their good fortunes. Four Winds planted their thirty-three acre vineyard in 1998 and 1999 with five varieties: Shiraz, Riesling, Cabernet, Merlot and Sangiovese.

Many wines to sample + friendly doggos Mollie (Husky/Kelpie cross) is usually at cellar door to greet visitors and supervise the staff. She has her own wine label so if she’s not at cellar door, she may be in the winery supervising the next vintage. Being a recuse dog herself, Mollie is proud that the two dog labelled wines support the ACT RSPCA. True to the cool climate region of NSW and Canberra, Murrumbateman Winery makes outstanding and award-winning Riesling and Shiraz. Winemaker Bobbie Makin also has a passion for alternative varieties and enjoys crafting a selection of wines including: Fume Blanc, Malbec, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. Murrumbateman Winery is a small boutique winery producing high quality, award winning wines from locally sourced, handpicked grapes.
Jeir Creek Wines
  • 1h 15m

Worked hard to create a new look label that shows both where our wines began and where we are going. The Royal Bluebell, now in gold, reminds us of Jeir Creek Wines’ rich history. As the floral emblem for the ACT, it also continues our strong connection to Canberra. The rest is us, modern, yet classic. Tradition and history are as important to us as modernization and quality. We hope you agree that our new look brings these values together. You will continue to see some of our old labels on our older vintages until sold out.
