WELCOME to the most charming and colourful tour in Colombia: the GUATAPÉ TOUR! Far from the mass tours, which offer 1 guide for 30 or 40 people, we bring you this affordable but more personalised option that will guarantee you a closer and more authentic experience.

At 8:30 am, we will start this exciting adventure to the famous town Zocalo's town.

To start the day with the best energy, we will enjoy a DELICIOUS BREAKFAST.

Then, we will pass through the PEÑOL VILLAGE, where we will visit its FAMOUS REPLICA, with spectacular views of the dam.

WAIT! THE BEST IS YET TO COME! The imposing PEÑOL ROCK challenges us with its more than 700 steps. Do you dare to climb and enjoy a 360º panoramic view? The reward is worth it!

After a TYPICAL LUNCH, we will take an EXCLUSIVE LUXURY BOAT TRIP for your group along the resevoir, where you can witness the islands emerging from the water and behold the stunning landscapes and properties of the area.

Then, we will visit the town of Guatapé where your guide will show you, the ICONIC UMBRELLA' STREET, ZÓCALOS SQUARE, MEMORY STREET AND ITS MAIN PARK so then you can explore it on your own.

Finally, we will stop at the LLAMAS farm to interact with them!

Activity itinerary

Medellin (Pass by)
We will meet at the agreed time with the guide at Parque del Poblado where our adventure will begin to the famous Zocalo's town: Guatapé!
Penol (Pass by)
Next we will pass through the town of Nuevo Peñol, whose urban centre was built as a consequence of the relocation of the inhabitants of Viejo Peñol, when the construction of the Guatapé dam became effective. As we drive along its high street we will observe the emblematic sculpture of the Phoenix Bird, symbol of the rebirth of the community, and a colourful mural in honour of the tomato growers, key figures in the economy and culture of the region."

Our first visit is the Réplica del Viejo Peñol, a scale imitation of the old town square where we can enjoy a majestic view over the dam and admire the colonial style of its architecture. Get your camera ready and take a picture of yourself well dressed in a ruana on one of the balconies of the establishments you will find!

Finally, we will take a short walking tour with our guide, exploring the most emblematic corners of Guatapé, such as the iconic Calle de las Sombrillas, the Plaza de los Zócalos, the Calle del Recuerdo and the Central Park. You will then be given free time to continue exploring the town at your own pace or if you wish to complement your experience by riding a jetski or taking a spectacular helicopter flight, creating a memory that will remain forever in your hearts!

Wait, NOW COMES THE BEST: THE PEÑOL STONE! Can you imagine climbing the 700 steps that lead to the top of this huge batholith and being rewarded with a spectacular 360º view of the surrounding landscape? Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Be amazed by the nature that surrounds you as you ascend this huge granite rock and by the interesting storey that our guide will tell you about it! At the end, the guide will accompany those who wish to climb it to the ticket office. Not to be missed!
