Liliuokalani Gardens (Pass by)
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen Liliʻuokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.
Hilo Downtown Improvement (Pass by)
Pass through the historic town of Hilo and see the King Kamehameha Statue learning the storey how he has conquered Hawaii.

Very poor. I have emailed Viator about all that went wrong and how the ad misrepresented and how the tour waa shorted by 40 minutes, kept waiting and a guide who disappeared often.

Tour guide/driver Kelvin as terrific! Incredibly knowledgeable about the Island. Had 2 trainees with him (Lonnie and Brian) -- equally knowledgeable. They were all fun. The tour was great and was a perfect "highlight of Hilo". The waterfalls were nice; the macadamia farm was interesting -- one side note which I mentioned to Kelvin was that the lunch served at the Mac Farm was overpriced and the people really rude there. The vegetarian option was an $18 "salad" which consisted of lettuce, a few tomato slices and a bunch of sprouts (they're looking for a new food option). The volcano was great -- we were lucky enough to see some lava spouting.

This tour was fabulous! It was just the right amount of time with a good number of stops, including one where food was available to purchase. Our guide, Donna, was amazing! She is so kind, funny, and very knowledgeable about her island! I’d ask for her again! All the stops are super beautiful, and seeing the active lava flow was just awesome! Thanks for a great day seeing all the beauty Hilo has to offer!

Mag, our tour guide and driver, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and chatty. She spoke almost non-stop throughout the 6-hr tour, giving us information about the places we were visiting, as well as telling us numerous stories. She was very cheerful and kept it very interesting. And we visited most of the top tourist attractions in Hilo.
