What you can expect

Take a two hour excursion aboard the powered double-pontoon boat through the amazing glowing waters of La Parguera in Lajas. First, enjoy a comfortable ride to the Southwestern area of Puerto Rico and learn from its culture and history along the way. Upon arrival to La Parguera we will stop for some starters. We will then head on a fun boat ride thru the floating homes, cays and mangroves as you watch the sunset. Here you will have the first opportunity to swim at the pristine waters. Once dark, we will head to another area of the bay where you will be able to experience the bioluminesence.

Our guide, along with the captain will explain the fragile ecology of the plants and animals of the bay, give interpretive star lectures. We will stop at an area of high concentration in order to give visitors the chance to view the millions of glowing creatures. On this exclusive activity you will have the opportunity to swim in the BioBay.

Please note: In order to preserve and create less impact on this ecosystem, if you plan to swim we suggest to avoid wearing chemicals such as perfume, hair gel or spray, and mosquito repellent (use a organic one!). Participants should be able to climb a small ladder to get back into the boat.

Check the Moonwatch Calendar for the best dates to visit the bay. We only operate the tour when there is no full moon.
