Mari was very friendly a great tour guide and you can tell she really loves the place. I recommend the mango overload in the food tent but if you wanna get one for her, ask for less condensed milk ;) pro tip: drink it slowly so you don’t get brain freeze!

The tour was an eye-opening experience showing how the local residents of Manila really live their every day lives. Going to many different corners of Divisoria market that sell meat, fish, veggies, fruit, and everything else that is edible and seeing some of the grittier areas was a highlight. And sampling local street food is what I live for. I am probably forgetting some things, but Mari suggested many things, all of which I was happy to sample: bola bola (deep fried skewered balls with chucked, pork, etc), balut (fertilized duck egg with some bits inside), dynamite lumpia (stuffed long chiles), grilled skewered chicken intestines and pork blood, sisig, grilled dried squid, mango smoothie, queso and ube ice cream. All of it was great, especially if you are an adventurous eater like myself. Check out her website at mstar-tours dot com!

It was an amazing trip with Mari. She has shown us different parts of Manila and she definitely took our fear off. Manila is not so bad as many people say. Also not by night. We felt safe in every second. Especially the tasting of different kinds of street food was absolute fantastic. Also the ride with the jeepeny made a lot of fun and helped us to understand the typical life of the Filipinos. Mari is a very nice tour guide, more a friend than a guide. She kept us smiling everytime and we definitely recommend her tours. I hope we see you in the near future again. Kind regards from Germany Michelle and Maurice
