Activity itinerary

Slovak National Theatre
  • 15m

The Slovak National Theatre was founded in 1920, although its origins trace back to the 19th century when Slovak intellectuals and artists advocated for the establishment of a national theatre.
Hlavné námestie
  • 15m
Hlavné námestie has been the main square of Bratislava since medieval times, serving as the heart of the city's political, economic, and cultural life. The square witnessed several royal coronations during the time when Bratislava (then Pressburg) was a coronation town of the Kingdom of Hungary.
Primacial Palace
  • 15m
  • Admission ticket not included
The Primatial Palace was built in the late 18th century, between 1778 and 1781, in the late Baroque style. It was commissioned by Archbishop József Batthyány to serve as the residence of the archbishops of Esztergom.
Michael's Gate

Michael's Gate is the only remaining gate out of the original four medieval gates that once fortified the city of Bratislava. It dates back to the late 14th century, although some parts are even older.

The site of the Bratislava Castle has been inhabited since ancient times, with evidence of settlements dating back to the late Stone Age and subsequent Celtic and Roman periods.
St. Martin's Cathedral
  • 15m
  • Admission ticket not included
St. Martin's Cathedral served as the coronation church for the Kingdom of Hungary between the 16th and 19th centuries. It was here that numerous Hungarian kings and queens were crowned, including Maria Theresa, the only woman to be crowned as Queen of Hungary.
Plague Column
  • 15m
The Plague Column was erected in 1713-1715 in response to the devastating plague epidemic that struck Bratislava in the early 18th century. The epidemic caused widespread death and suffering among the population. The column was built as a votive monument and expression of gratitude for the city's deliverance from the plague.
