Notable sites include the 1st-century Roman Theatre, the medieval Baptistery, and the Palazzo dei Priori, one of the oldest municipal buildings in Tuscany. The Arco Etrusco, a monumental gate, is a testament to the city’s ancient origins. You can also visit, by request, the workshops of alabaster, etching, and bronze artisans, where beautiful works of art are created in these centuries-old traditions. Volterra is also known for being one of the main filming locations for the Twilight saga, with several scenes shot in the city.
