You’ll taste your way through Sarajevo’s rich culinary identity—starting with freshly baked somun bread paired with smoky cured meats and artisanal cheeses, followed by hand-rolled pita and fresh yougurt. We’ll then visit a local aščinica, a traditional Bosnian eatery, where you’ll try warm, home-style dishes just like locals have for generations. The experience continues with a tasting of up to three types of rakija—or, for those who prefer non-alcoholic options, a sweet ending awaits with baklava and Bosnian coffee prepared the traditional way.

From Balkantina, we’ll stroll past the historic Markale Market on our way to the City Market Hall (Gradska tržnica)—a vibrant indoor market where locals shop for fresh, seasonal food sourced from Bosnia’s unspoiled countryside. Step inside this culinary hub and immerse yourself in a world of artisan cheeses, smoked and cured meats, and traditional delicacies crafted from centuries-old recipes. These are products born from pure mountain air, spring water, and time-honored skills, offering a true taste of Bosnia’s rural soul.
Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (Pass by)
Visiting Liberation square (Trg Oslobođenja), market place, concert place, exhibition place, pub place. One part of the square is a big chess board. In the middle of the square is a statue Monument All Man Multicultural, the symbol of liberty, and Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.

Visiting Gazi Husrev Bey’s Bezistan (covered bazaar). Being under cover and in the Ottoman style of centuries ago you can see why some refer to it as ‘a piece of Istanbul in the heart of Sarajevo’ as its style is similar to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Shops here sell traditional Ottoman style clothing and gifts and you will have to haggle to get yourself a bargain but it is part of the enjoyable experience of the Bazaar and a must see while in Sarajevo.
Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque
