Know before you book

  • Children 4 and younger are complimentary. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • If you are prone to motion sickness, please take any necessary precautions. Consult a medical professional before taking any medication.
  • Hours of operation for the SeaLink Breakwater Terminal are 6:15 AM–6.00 PM daily. Hours of operation for the Magnetic Island Ferry are 6.30AM–11.00PM. Trip duration is approximately 25 minutes each way. Ferries depart frequently throughout the day; please check the timetable before you go.
  • Please note we do not allocate tickets to our ferry departure times, arriving early to the terminal is recommended to board your desired ferry departure. Please exchange your voucher at our sales counter at least 30 minutes prior to your chosen departure time.
  • Limited services run on Christmas Day, our terminal operating hours are also limited. Please note times may also vary on public holidays including Australia Day & Anzac Day

Soon, you reach Magnetic Island, where the rest of the day is yours to do with as you please. Soak up the sun on the white-sand beach, go for a walk through the eucalyptus forest, or embark on a range of activities that include everything from snorkelling and hiking to visiting the Koala Village. When you're ready to return to Townsville, simply hop on the ferry for the ride back to the mainland.
