What you can expect

Experience the Balinese cooking culture and Indonesian food making in Seminyak. Perfect as an educational session for you or your group, yet easy and fun. An expert native Balinese chef will assist you in learning the culture, ingredients, and how to prepare and create authentic Balinese - and some popular Indonesian - dishes. A certificate of completion is also included.

Your class will begin with a visit to the nearby local market from the cooking class venue. The mentoring chef will accompany and guide you from one stall to the next to find the ingredients which are required for the cooking class. The chef will help you to identify and select the best local herbs, spices, fresh fish, meats, vegetables, and fruits for completing your Balinese cooking experiment. You will discover which local ingredients can be easily found abroad, especially in an Asian supermarkets. You will then later use the ingredients that were bought in the morning market run.

After your market tour, you will then come back to your cooking class venue and start preparing your dish. Interact with your fellow cooks and discover handy techniques as you prepare various dishes. Then, sit down to a meal and savour the delicious flavours of your creations.

This was a great activity we saw where to purchase the ingredients and then were shown how to prepare the different dishes and finally had a lovely lunch. We also received a copy of all the recipes we cooked during to class.

Wow! What an amazing experience! The drivers were great and cars air conditioned. The market tour place was informative and a nice little look at local life. The actual class was so unforgettable. The food was fresh and delicious, the chef was so funny and knowledgeable. And by the end we had so much food there was way too much leftover. Amazing experience!

Thoroughly enjoyed the class! Lots of fun, very hands on, learn how to cook delicious authentic Balinese dishes. I take my hat off to the chef and the team at Warung Nia, You's did a fantastic job! Money well spent. I highly recommend taking cooking class.

Awesome experience cooking and eating the food you have prepared. the chef was amazing, i was amazed how he knew salt was less by just smelling the dish. the cooking class was excellent and really eye opening experience. His assistant were really nice, polite and helpful. market was also really good touch to this experience as you get a lot of knowledge about different herbs and vegetables

Fantastic activity! Pick up was easy and great to see a local market. We cooked 9 things in total and got to enjoy this as lunch at the end. Well prepared, hygienic and staff were very organised. A great activity in rainy weather too!
