Overview

For approximately 10 weeks in winter, ice stalactites and stalagmites up to three metres long and high form in an ice cave on the Noboribetsu River. These rare formations are the product of a unique combination of geology and climate, creating a natural wonderland. The hike in on snowshoes and is 8 kilometres in all, and includes some gentle climbing through fir and native forest. This tour is a great way to experience snowshoeing to a truly memorable destination.

Activity itinerary

We will snowshoe through snow-blanketed forests until we reach the ice caves at the end of the valley. At the caves we will have a rest with a light meal and a hot drink whilst marvelling at this natural phenomenon that only happens for a short period every winter. We have 6 pairs of Men's snowshoes (Japan shoe size 25.5 cm - 30.5 cm) and 4 pairs of Women's snowshoes (Japan shoe size 22 cm - 27 cm). Minimum Number of Participants：２people
