Setting out from Mazatlán to visit the rural village of La Noria, where you can see traditional artisans crafting leather goods and visit La Vinata Tequila Factory to discover all you need to know to enjoy this iconic drink.
Just a short drive from the resorts of Mazatlán is La Noria, a charming village of adobe homes where the gaucho (cowboy) spirit is still alive. Walk through the lovely church of San Antonio, learn about the rodeo culture in the area and see local leather workers crafting goods such as saddles and belts.
Next, ride through rolling fields of blue agave as you head towards the town's tequila factory; La Vinata is the oldest tequila house in the state of Sinaloa. Learn about the process of making tequila, from harvesting the agave pina to fermenting, distilling and bottling the fiesta-fueling spirit. Get some tips on cocktails you can mix with tequila and sit down for a tasting of different bottles.
