What you can expect

This tour offers a valuable insight into the culture of rural New Zealand, capped off with a delicious barbecue in charming surroundings. Take a cruise on immaculate lake waters aboard a historic steamship and indulge in a tasty meal.

Stretching out from the shores of Queenstown are the pure waters of Lake Wakatipu. Board the heritage steamship TSS Earnslaw, and set out across the lake. More than 100 years old, your boat is packed with history. It is the only coal-fired steamship still carrying passengers in the Southern Hemisphere. Sit back, relax and admire the dramatic scenery of lush, green hillsides topped with jagged peaks.

Land at Walter Peak High Country Farm, and hear about its history and the founding-farms of the area. Within the pleasant environs of the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, enjoy the array of freshly prepared food in your buffet meal. Grilled meats, seafood, fresh salads and seasonal vegetables all feature on the menu. After your meal, those with a sweet tooth can indulge in a wide selection of desserts.

The steamship ride and scenery was fine. I would not choose to have the buffet meal next time.

Perfect cruise with stunning views to be dropped off at a beautiful farm venue for dinner. Buffet was so good. Chicken, pork, venison, lamb, a fish with all the fixing for sides.

I love the experience. Great scenery and the food is great. My only thing that could have made this experience the best for me in my trip in Queenstown is I wish the time spent in the restaurant was a little longer. Me and my partner didn't get to finish our meal because it was time to see the sheep shearing show. But everything else was excellent experience to have.

Absolutely lived it. The cruise, the food and the dog/sheep show. The service was fantastic From the boat to the dinner service… the way they brought the samples to the table.. and if you wanted any more there was no problem to bring as much as you could eat. I loved the sheepdog show.. with sky and summer.. and there handler of course who was very informative and funny!!!! Would do this again for sure

For the price it was good. In terms of service at tables could be allot better it almost seemed overwhelming for the staff . At one stage they had taken my plate away and my cutlery without asking so I couldn’t fill my plate at the buffet . Food was good drinks extremely overpriced but overall experience good.

Fantastic experience with a most outstanding buffet dinner. The desserts are to die for. The most authentic sheep rounding show by a long shot.

The only downside was the last tables to go the buffet didn't really have enough time to go to both the gift shop and the sheep dog demonstration. Otherwise a very "well-oiled" machine in terms of getting hundreds of people through an amazing ethat xperience.
