With a multi-day private tour, you can see many of the highlights throughout the country, from the fertile coastal strip to the interior sahara desert. Whether your interests are history and archaeology, or you just want to see many of the filming locations from the Star Wars films, this tour can be completely customised to meet your needs and desires.

You’ll be exploring this country with a local tour guide who has lived and worked throughout the country and is uniquely qualified to show you the authentic Tunisia.

Some of the highlights include Carthage, centre of a once vast empire, the Roman cities of Dougga and El jem, with their extensive and well-preserved ruins, Kairouan, the first Maghreb capital, the desert oasis towns of Tozeur, Chebika and Tamerza, and Berber villages like Matmata, with their troglodyte dwellings.

Of course, all along the way we’ll be stopping to sample the best of Tunisia’s cuisine.

7-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1- Carthage: the Roman Baths, Roman Villas and Byrsa Hill, Sidi Bou Said, and the Medina, Tunis’ old town. Overnight in Tunis.

Day 2 - Dougga, Zaghouan, overnight in Hammamet.

Day 3 - Kairouan: The Great Mosque, the Mausoleum of the Barber and the Aglabid Basins. Overnight in Tozeur.

Day 4 - The Atlas Mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides. The salt flats of Chott el Jerid and the Berber troglodyte dwellings in Matmata. Overnight in Matmata.

Day 5 – Tataouine, Chenini, Ksar Haddada and Ksar Medenine. Overnight in Gabes.

Day 6 - The Roman Amphitheatre of El Jem. Overnight in Sousse.

Day 7 - Sousse Medina and Monastir. Return to the hotel or transfer to the airport.
