Situated in Piazza del Duomo, at the heart of Florence is the glorious Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, topped by Brunelleschi's cupola, a true masterpiece of engineering. Begun in 1173, the tower has been leaning since the beginnings of its construction and it is widely recognised as an outstanding feat of engineering. This spectacular monument can been enjoyed from the ground or by climbing tho 273 steps to the top, where you will get an beautiful view over the surroundings.
