Vang Vieng is famous for the natural beauty of Laos with breathtaking views of rock and limestone mountains, caves and rock outcrops. This full day tour offers you a chance to explore these stunning beauty of nature and an opportunity to understand more about the daily life of the local in a traditional handicraft village.
This full day tour takes you to some destinations. The time in each destination can be flexible as your request as long as it doesn’t affect the whole plan.
At the departure time around 8 am, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby by an English speaking guide and a driver.
Your first destination is the fantastic archaeological site of Vangxang dating from the Mon-Khmer period of the 8th to 11th century.
Leaving Vangxang, you continue the tour by heading to Ban Houeimo and observe the process of making Saa-paper handicrafts. In addition, you will have the chance to interact with the local people with the support of the guide. By this way, you will learn more about their daily life and activities.
Your lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After having lunch and a rest, you will start the afternoon programme by visiting Tham Chang Cave or the Elephant cave. It is situated on the bank of the Nam Song River. Tham Chang Cave is the biggest cave in of Vang Vieng with a very nice setting of the surroundings. Local people have a strong spiritual belief of the cave. It is considered an important Buddhist temple that is named after the remarkable limestone formations in the cave. There is time for you to take a rest in a quiet natural atmosphere outside the cave and enjoy the beautiful views of this region.
Then, you will be transferred back to Vientiane and the tour ends about 5:30pm.
