Hanoi

Arrival at Hanoi airport where our Spanish speaking guide will be waiting for you. Transfer to the city (1hr.), meanwhile, you can get a first impression of Hanoi and its amazing fusion between bustle and serenity. Temple of Literature & National University

After breakfast, we begin visits to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is also considered to be one of the few Asian cities with tree-lined avenues, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. The tour includes a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070 in honour of Confucius and considered as the symbol of Hanoi.

One Pillar Pagoda

We will continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, built in 1049 on a single stone pillar by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who reigned from 1028 to 1054. The pagoda is designed like a lotus flower leaf in honour of Buddha.

Hanoi

Lunch in local restaurant. After lunch, we will have an experience with the flowers and their traditional way of adorning them. Visit an artisan florist to see how the bouquets are made, how this beautiful and traditional spiritual art of Vietnam that has come to this day generation after generation is transmitted and preserved. Guests will learn to recognise exotic flowers while enjoying preparing a spiritual floral offering.

Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street

Afterwards we arrive at Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart of Hanoi, where we will take a walk around the lake with a panoramic view of the Ngoc Son Temple, located in the middle of the lake, along with the red The Huc Bridge.

Old Quarter

After breakfast, we met our driver in the hotel hall and left for Halong Bay, whose name means "the dragon that descends from the sea". According to legend, a dragon created the islands of the bay. Upon arrival, we embarked on a cruise to explore this wonderful place, with lunch on board. After lunch, we continue to sail, admiring the thousands of islands and islets surrounded by greenery, with surprising shapes and sizes. We visit islands such as the Turtle and the Head of Man. Halong Bay, for its beauty, geology, biodiversity and cultural importance, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World in 2011. We disembarked at Halong Pier and took a road transfer to Hanoi, from where we flew to Da Nang. Upon arrival, we head straight to Hoi An (approximately 30 minutes). At dusk, we took a boat ride along the Hoai River, of great historical significance to the inhabitants of Hoi An. As night falls, the streets are lit with coloured lanterns, and the lanterns are thrown into the water to augur well. The city shines with a unique and mysterious atmosphere. In the afternoon, we will visit Thien Mu Pagoda (Heavenly Lady), the symbol of Hue and which was built in 1601 between a river and a pine forest, on the banks of the famous Perfume River. Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)

After breakfast, visit the imperial city of Hue, the former capital of the country for more than 140 years, discovering its rich historical past of glorious monumental gems scattered among its walls. Visit of the Imperial Citadel, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993, which hosts the mythical “Forbidden Purple City”. The city was protected by a huge wall next to a moat whose length reaches 10 km with walls 2 metres thick, and it was from where the Nguyen dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Afterwards, we visited the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, also known as “temple of supreme grace”.

Departure by tuk-tuk (a very typical vehicle in Cambodia) to the South Gate, from where you can see its impressive statues representing the movement of the ocean, the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), the Bayon temple with its 54 decorated towers and about 200 enigmatic smiley faces of Avalokitesvara, the Phimeanakas temple, the terraces of the leper king and elephants and the royal cameras.

Then visit the Ta Prohm temple, one of the most spectacular temples in the area, which has remained relatively the same as when it was discovered and still holds much of its mystery. Lunch in local restaurant.

Angkor Wat

In the afternoon, transfer by bus to visit the most famous of all temples, Angkor Wat – World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The temple complex covers 81 hectares, comparable in extent to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. The well-known five towers are part of the Cambodian flag. They represent the 5 peaks of Meru, the walls surrounding them, are the mountains and the valley surrounding them, the ocean. We look at this 12th century work of art, considered among historians to be the first example of classic Khmer architecture and art, while enjoying its beautiful sunset – an excellent panorama to end the day. Return to the hotel and stay in Siem Reap.

Day 11: Siem Reap - Visits - Banteay Samre - Banteay Srei

Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin the day with a Buddhist ceremony at a local pagoda, where the monks will guide us in a reflection on Buddhism and its impact on Cambodian culture. At the end of the ceremony, you will receive a prayer to apportion luck and blessings. Then, we will visit the Hindu temple Banteay Samre, dedicated to Shivah, with beautiful reliefs narrating scenes of Ramayana. Afterwards, we will head to Banteay Srei, known as the “Citadel of Women”. This temple, unique for being built by and for women, stands out for its pink sandstone and fine reliefs, a true jewel of Khmer art. Lunch at a local restaurant. Back, we will visit the D’Angkor Craftsmen, a centre that promotes the preservation of traditional crafts and supports Cambodian youth, allowing the country’s artistic traditions to live on.

Today we will wake up at 05:30 to see the queues of monks leaving the pagodas to order food from the locals and visit the morning market. Then I return to the hotel for breakfast and a little rest. Next, we visit Wat Xieng Thong, the most important and significant monument in Laos, both for the spirit, religion and history of its kings and for traditional art. There are more than twenty buildings in the complex, including shrines, pavilions and residences. In addition, in its gardens there is a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and ornamental trees.
