Overview

This itinerary offers an exclusive experience through three of Southeast Asia’s most iconic destinations, providing an enriching immersion in the region’s culture, history and natural landscapes.

After breakfast, we will begin our visit to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is also considered one of the few Asian cities with wooded avenues, French colonial architecture, quiet lakes and eastern temples. The tour includes a visit to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam, founded in 1070 in honour of Confucius and considered the symbol of Hanoi.

We will continue to the Pagoda of One Pillar, built in 1049 on a single stone pillar by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who reigned from 1028 to 1054. The pagoda was designed to resemble a lotus leaf in honour of Buddha.
Hanoi

Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will have an experience with the flowers and their traditional way of decorating them. Visit a handmade florist to see how the bouquets are made, how this beautiful and traditional spiritual art of Vietnam that survived generation after generation is transmitted and preserved. After breakfast, meet with the guide in the hotel hall and take the road to the stunning Halong Bay, whose name means “the dragon coming down from the sea” in Vietnamese. According to legend, a dragon would have created the islands that adorn this unique landscape. Embark on a charming cruise to explore this spectacular landscape. Lunch aboard as we sail between the imposing rock formations that emerge from the emerald waters. After the meal, we continue our tour, admiring islands of peculiar shapes, such as the Turtle, the Dog and the Head of Man. Thanks to its unique beauty, geological and cultural importance, Halong was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994 and included among the Seven Natural Wonders of the World in 2011. We landed at Halong Pier, from where we transferred to Hanoi by road to the airport to take the flight to Da Nang. On arrival, we have direct transfer to Hoi An (about 30 min) In the evening, transfer to the Hoai River, where we will sail. This river has a very special meaning for the inhabitants of Hoi An, as it witnessed the events that occurred in Vietnam over the years. Angkor Wat

In the afternoon, we will take the bus to visit the most famous temple in the region: Angkor Wat – declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The complex of this temple covers an extent of about 81 hectares, comparable in extent to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. The temple is a representative of Mount Meru, a sacred mythological mountain, and the five towers of the complex symbolise the five peaks of the mountain, and the wall and the surrounding pit symbolise the mountains and the ocean. In the late afternoon, we will enjoy the sunset of Pre Rup temple. Return to the hotel at the end of the visit.

Breakfast at the hotel. We will attend a Buddhist ceremony with monks in a pagoda where we will learn more about Buddhism and how this religion influences Cambodian culture. We will close the ceremony with a prayer from the monks to distribute luck and blessings. Then we visit the Hindu temple Banteay Samre. This sacred place, dedicated to the god Shiva, is decorated with abundant reliefs of Hindu themes, telling various scenes from Ramayana.

We continue the tour through the great temple of Banteay Srei (which literally means “city of victory”), known today as the “City of Women” for being the only temple in the Khmer Empire that was not built for a monarch, yes, no. , by and for women. Built according to the construction regulations of Angkorian, Banteay Srei is a beautiful and elegant small-scale temple, a fairy palace in the middle of an endless forest. We contemplate this “Joy of Khmer Art,” its rose sandstone facade, its sculptures, sculpted reliefs with great precision and continue to learn about the art of the ancient Khmer empire. Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit)

After breakfast, we will visit three Buddhist temples in Bangkok. We will start with Wat Traimit, which is in the busy Chinatown, near Hualampong train station. In this temple, there is the largest massive gold statue in the world: an image of a golden Buddha almost 5 metres tall and weighing 5.5 tonnes. As the temple is on top, we will also have a panorama of Chinatown.
