What you can expect

The most popular beaches of Zanzibar are in Nungwi. This is mostly because the tides do not have such a huge impact on the beach. But, did you know that Nungwi is also the capital of local dhow manufacturing? Find out all about how these impressive sailing vessels are made and get the chance to see local craftsmen in action.

Later, enjoy lunch including one complimentary drink at a local restaurant. After that, experience a real turtle sanctuary. Here, turtles are treated and healed of any illnesses before being released to the ocean. Get the chance to swim with these incredible animals and feed them.

The trip was great. The guide Juma, was very patient with us and considering that it was Ramadhani period we still had a great time. We were picked up from hotel as promised. The swim with turtles was amazing but they bit a little lol. Learning about how the boats are made and the fish auctions was pretty cool. I highly recommend

Juma was on time picking us from Zanzibar port . Told us a lot about Zanzibar during our 1.5 hours drive to the north where we see the turtle sanctuary . The Dhow boat tour was very interesting . We even got to try how to use the traditional drill ( made of wood and string). Restaurant that this tour choose was excellent . Food was delish! I love trying local traditinal food wherever I go and this restaurant and their staff was lovely. We also had time to walk at the beach and it was low tide so we got to see the dhow boats and be able to walk close to them . Drive around the fishing village and got to watch how they live in real life is a plus . The best part of this tour is being / swimming with the sea turtles . This sanctuary is doing a good job rehabilitating the injured turtles and keeping them for 1-2 years and they will send them back to the wild . Everything about this tour is good and the driver / tour guide Juma is excellent

Ahmed our driver was really good, he brought us to a market as well for the European bananas. We were quite early at the sanctuary so we there was not a lot of people. Guide at sanctuary asks for your phone and makes the most beautiful pictures and videos. Something you have to experience!

Amazing day! Ahmad was incredible. Punctual when picking us up, friendly, knowledgeable and really kind. He got us to the lagoon before anyone else so we had time just us before other arrived, stayed with us throughout the day, took us to a lovely beachside restaurant for lunch after being with the turtles and brought us back safe and sound. Amazing experience!
