Thinking of throwing a sickie and heading to Pontevedra? There are a small number of accommodations within a 10-kilometre radius.

Although Albeos isn't exactly overflowing with accommodation choices, the Pazo da Fraga is located just a short walk from the heart of town.

20 kilometres away from the heart of Albeos is the Balneario de Mondariz. Alternatively, the Hotel Bienestar Termas de Monção can be found 20 kilometres away. Some other places to stay include the Casa de Rodas and the Convento dos Capuchos.

After you have explored Albeos, why not tour a bit further afield? The Galicia vicinity has many other things to see. The hotel was decent but the reception wasn’t open 24 hours so if you’re arriving late (around 11pm or so), you’ll always have to knock and wake up whoever is in there. There was one night that I almost didn’t get into the hotel because no one was at the reception and the main door was locked. Luckily, a woman who was also staying there arrived and called his boyfriend and unlocked the door for us from the inside. There was also a small spark or kind of a little explosion in one of the sockets in my room. I went to the receptionist but no one was there and waited for more than 30 minutes. A guest who happened to be an electrician helped me out. I decided to transfer hotels after 4 nights of stay.
