The hotel is awesome. The bed is super comfortable. They had just reopened from Helene and the staff was friendly and helpful. The price of the spa day pass is ridiculously high. We are locals and celebrating a birthday and trying to put money back into Asheville. It was a big treat and we’re not used to spas but my husband and I were only able to use the hot tub and the pool together. Everything else is divided by gender. We spent $400 on two day passes after paying the nightly rate and only spent two hours in a hot tub. This part should be included in a stay at the rate they charge. Super disappointed in something I considered my bucket list but we learned to ask.

Third times a charm
I have stayed at The Grove Park Inn many times in the past 10 years or so. I have stayed with my family as well as on a girls’ trip. This was my first solo trip. The Spa and amenities were impeccable as always. I had booked a Mountain View room and requested the newest (most recently renovated) wing of the hotel. The first room had a bathtub instead of a shower which I can completely understand if I was traveling with family. I requested to move to a different room and they placed me on the ground floor, in an adjoining room, obscured Mountain View (at best) with bushes blocking the view. The lock on the adjoins room door didn’t work. As the person who checked me in was decidedly less friendly when I requested to change rooms the first time, I was reluctant to request a second time. Once I finally found the courage to ask to move to yet another room, they found me the perfect room that I should have had from the start.

Only one of the 4 restaurants at the Omni was open. (The Bar). Very few options for dinner and over priced! Pet fee was also extravagant at $250.00/stay. Not worth it!
