They were under construction during our stay so it was a bit messy and loud. But also- the ice machine was not working, the pool and jacuzzi were closed, the juice machine was broken, the pancake machine broken, hard dried-out bread and pastries, complimentary popcorn machine broken, our room was dirty with dried spills and drink rings on the surfaces, construction dust in the corners behind the doors and on the bathroom counter, hairs on the floor and tub. Disappointing for sure. Alas, our river view room provided amazing views and it was a comfortable place to lay our heads at the end of the busy days.

Best lodging experience in 15 years
This was the nicest and most adorable place we stayed in our vacation. They were just finishing their updates to the facility and it was so lovely and clean. We messed up our reservation and they were still able to accommodate us with a smile. Jasmine, you were amazing! We loved the view of the river and Astoria Bridge. For once, the ADA rooms were near the elevator, instead at the end of the hall. We appreciated this since we had extra luggage. We'll definitely stay with you again when we're in Astoria.

Had a good stay here 5 years ago so decided to stay here again. Unfortunately the place has become quite run down in 5 years. Shady people staying here and I did not feel safe.

The view from our room and the location of the hotel on the river is exemplary. This hotel is undergoing huge remodeling and should not be charging the prices they are asking. No Pool or hot tub, though we got a bit of a discount for this. The morning complimentary breakfast was excellent.

We were disappointed with our recent stay at your hotel. Here's why: The hotel was undergoing renovations, which were not mentioned on your website. Due to renovations, key amenities like the pool were unavailable but still charging the full rate felt unfair. It would have been appropriate to offer a discount to reflect the limitations imposed by the renovation. Our room was not properly cleaned. Finding hair on the pillow was a clear sign that housekeeping standards were not met. Additionally, dust was present in the lobby air likely due to the ongoing renovations. This detracted from the overall ambiance.

Our stay in the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria
This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The pool and hot tub were unavailable due to so that was a big disappointment after driving for 13+ hours. The breakfast was not as appetizing as the last time I stayed either. The beds were okay but sheets a bit wrinkled. The view of the mouth of the Columbia River was very nice and also the view of the pier and bridge over the river/ocean. Another positive was it was very quiet on our floor.

We had a reservation from 6/6/2024-6/9/2024. I was called a couple days before to be informed that the hotel was under renovations and ALL amenities were closed. I asked for an adjusted rate at that time and was told that it was just a call to let me know and no compensation was being offered. At this point, all rooms were sold out in Astoria, At check in, I was told the suite we had reserved was overbooked so we had a regular room, but she would comp us an adjoining room as a courtesy. Which is not a courtesy comp because I paid for the bigger room and was not given a regular rate for the room. I was upset and the agent just asked me, if I wanted to stay or not. The next day, housekeeping was playing loud music as she cleaned the rooms next to ours, very unproffesional, and there was a trash bag left in the hallway our entire stay. The TV randomly shut off, not like a 2 hour sleep shut off, but in random time increments. The room phone was called twice while I was sleeping, to let me know the pool was closed. Which I was told ahead of time and at check in. In the mornings there was construction going on all around us and some kind of corporate visits. We overheard them asking why our floor wasn't closed. We spent a lot of money for this trip for my neices graduation and it was very uncomfortable and inconvenient the whole 3 days. I should be given a lower rate for the room and service that we were given. I am hopeful that Holiday Inn will issue a partial refund immediate

Hotel staff was professional and friendly. The called me in advance to let me know of renovations in progress so there were no surprises. The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

The rooms seemed to be newly done & very nice. Plenty of room. We loved that the timer for the fireplace was for up to 60 mins instead of 20 like it was the other 3 times we've stayed there. It was very disappointing that the swimming pool was out of commission. They did call us a few days before our trip to let us know. We were traveling with children & grandchildren, one of whom got sick during the trip. We had need of the laundry room, & it was out of commission, too. Bad timimg on our part but disappointing for the price you have to pay to stay in a hotel these days. Overall, it was a good stay & we'll stay there again.
