Everything was going perfect until the morning of check out when my card was charged $300 from the hotel before even checking out we were still sleep and check out isn’t until 11am they charged me at 9am. No one came to check for damages or anything prior to for them to charge me $400 when $100 already have to be put down prior to getting the room. This hotel ruined what would of been a 10/10 experience.

Rundown musty cheap motel like stuck in 90s!
So awful we didn’t even stay—we left immediately. I even saw another couple checking out right in front of me, and this was in the middle of the night after a late check-in. You know that feeling when you walk into an old, cheap motel with everything outdated, falling apart, and carrying that unmistakable musty smell? That’s exactly this hotel—like being stuck in a 90s motel. Even an upgraded ocean-view room couldn’t help. The carpet reeked, the bed sheets were wrinkled, and the towels felt like they’d been washed a million times—thin, worn, and anything but fresh. The walls, ceiling, and fixtures were ancient and looked like they hadn’t been properly repaired or maintained in ages. Everything about this place felt neglected and out of touch with the present. And for almost $500 for two nights, you’d think they’d at least have the decency to refund some money, but no!

This property uses the aesthetic of vintage but it’s not well maintained. Pool was dirty, but warm. Room had no smoke detector, when we called to have one placed it took an hour from 11pm-12 am for the only maintenance person to come. Maybe it’s off season but Atlantic City is so not what it used to be I’d rather pay less for a hotel a bit farther away from the boardwalk which is more renovated.

Main water pipe broke, had no water or elevator. Walked down and up all those flights of stairs. I felt bad for the old people who came down to the lobby from the upper floors to inquire what was happening. Staff was mixed. Had a staff that i observed to be very professional and patient. One was cross armed and kept directing guests to the manager. No apologies or compensation from hotel management after I emailed them the next day.

The claridge experience this time was the oppisite of what i had the first.time.I frlt that where they kept the black people was all the way in the back and the ither prople got wuality rooms. My first toom had poor view and ni ice machine wotking..very noisey.abd i had to compksin it was that bad.Then thry fave me another toom that was worst ..construction fone on floor with sheet rock dust on the floor andcin the air...ice machine out if order..vending machine not on and working view of parking lot .i took pictures of all theses things...I ask her how many rooms in the place a d she said 400 i said so why cant i get a descent room she said i had to take it up with expedia as the 3rd party her hands was tied .Then i told her to check what i paid and she saw i paid the furst time over $278 for my stay with no issues.so after me complsining tsking my bags ip and down she gave me a room...and i settled for it.I need to complsin to higher ip people and they charged my card teice 136 twice thstvi had to call and complsin abiut..the experience was the worst.
