We were here in February and back for Christmas. Its great to see they are continuing with the renovations and maintenance. 3 stars are only for construction materials laying around outside of the jobsite. This place is a hidden jem for us , we love coming here and will continue to do so!

Definitely dated. We were in the main lodge and our room was a step back in time! Not something I find negative it was cozy. Full kitchen with dishes and it was clean. Nice bathroom but paper thin walls. Our heat ran all night and we couldn’t get it to cool off even with turning the ac on in the winter

Beds were very comfortable...loved the views...kids loved the water park...outdoor hot tub was very nice...only booo was the sauna was out of operation. Was given free transit passes which made going downtown easy...really great of them to do!

We had an excellent stay. While the property is definitely in need of some updating, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very friendly. We would come back for sure. If you are a family, this is definitely a property worth checking out. Affordable and plenty for everyone to enjoy

We stayed here on a Wednesday night in early December, so it was quiet. But perfect for us. The room is clean and has all the amenities we need. Staff are awesome, theres a bus stop to downtown at your front door, and the outside hot tub is TOPS! Will definitely book again

How is it even still open?
This place needs new management. The whole place is falling apart and the hospitality is very poor. Lower your standards if you plan to stay at Douglas Fir.

BEST PLace for KIDS ---- This property is due for Reno- but the price offers alot,,, the suites were dated but mountain charming,, the facilaties were dated but offered plenty,,,, they work hard to keep things ice/snow/trash free and clean,,, and there is so much to enjoy,,,, I'd like to see the second pool reopened,, the retail area reopened,and some renovated suites,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, this place is great value,,,,,,,,,,,,,, its just not meeting its potental or earlier greatness,,,,,,,,,,,, This should be a crowded resort,,, its so much fun,,, but as the years have gone by,,its getting dated and behind on renos,,,,,,,, stilll,,,,,,,A GREAT VALUE,, and I will be back,,,, hope to see it thrive!! The water slides, hot tubs, and barely noticed kids fun park are kid paradice,,,,, and unique destination in Banff,,, no one has what they do for kids

We loved the waterpark and the kid zone. We also liked the different options for the rooms as we had a large group so found the chalet option was perfect so we didn't disturb any neighbors with 10 kids in there during the evening

We love coming here every year for our Christmas tradition but every year the place gets worse. It needs a major upgrade. Pool was closed. Outdoor hot tub was luke warm. The shower in the room was either hot or cold. There was duct tape holding tiles together in the living room and black burn marks all above the fireplace. We would def be op n to paying more if the place was renovated but it’s just falling apart and it’s very sad.

Overall, it was a really great place for the price we paid. Three of the burners on our stove did not work. The bathroom fan and the range fan did not work. We did not notify the front desk about these until check out as it was not a big deal for us, but thought they should know about it. The outdoor hot tub was not very hot and the water level was quite low. It was only waist deep unless sitting on the floor. During our 4 day stay, we only briefly used it one time, for this reason. The staff was all great and we loved having he option to prepare our meals and sit in front of a fire every evening. I will definitely stay here again.
