The trip did not start well, we went to the dining room at 4:50 because we had a reservation at 5. The doors were open so we walked in. We were then rudely told that the dining room was not open and we needed to leave and come back in 10 minutes. We ended up having the very person who was rude as our waiter. I was not happy. The meal was good but the prices were high as we think this restaurant is trying to be a high class restaurant when the past history of this hotel is a rustic environment. We went to Terrazonos the next night which was amazing and cost less than the Juniper. We then went out the next day in the afternoon. We put the “please clean the room” sign on the door. We were gone for 3 hours. We came back and the room had not been cleaned. The same thing happened the next day. 3 hours gone in. The morning, clean the room sign on the door, came back to a dirty room. There was a housekeeping cart parked right beside our room door so we took a couple of towels. The one good thing is that the bed was amazingly comfortable. We were disappointed as we had stayed at this hotel when it was the Timberline and we loved it then.

We have stayed at The Juniper numerous times and understand its early 50s history as the Timberline Hotel situated on much earlier traditional gathering lands on the sunny side of the valley, so it's not modern accommodation. But that is part of its charm. The in-house Bistro is a convenient and welcoming spot to enjoy the dramatic view of Mt. Rundle during breakfast and a pleasant spot to end the day lingering over dinner. On our latest visit we did miss the group seating area in front of the fire place, which has been repurposed for high-top tables for dining. On all our visits, the staff has been welcoming and helpful.

The hotel is dated but clean, there are not many amenities and the additional $15 per day “amenities charge” for parking, wifi, hot tub use etc. was an unpleasant surprise. Will likely not be back but nice to stay at this iconic venue even once.

Hotel was fabulous, especially for yhr shoulder season price. Our only complaint/con is that the rooms have no sound proofing at all. We could hear kids running up and down the halls as if they were in our room. And could hear the people walking in the room above us as if they were stopping, jumping or marching. We would stay again but definitely only if we were guaranteed a 2nd floor room.

We were only here for one night so can't give much of a review from experiencing the hotel as a whole, but the room was lovely and clean. Amenities in the room are excellent and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again

Nice location, but a little loud
Great location and nice room overlooking the town and mountains. The room however was loud all night long. Could hear the neighbours and the floors below pretty clearly.

The Juniper Inn is just outside the main town of Banff, so it's quiet. There was plenty of parking and the staff were very nice. They also have a lot of amenities you can take advantage of if you're staying long enough.
