My wife and 5-month-old were planning to stay here overnight but we were turned off immediately by the appearance of the place. Also, it's supposed to be "smokefree", but our room reeked of cigarettes. I would suggest fresh a paint job and installing more lights around the building halls to make the place more appealing and less creepy.

We could tell once pulling in this wasnt a safe place. We got key and went to room and walked in to a broken VERY unsafe AC unit and we have two toddlers with us. Their was also cockroaches all over in which we did take pictures of and show front desk and got a refund and left. Thank god we only walked in door and turned around and walked right back out. Do not recommend this hotel. Weve never been to a hotel as bad as this one.

Hotel Nightmare!! Do not stay!!
Our non- smoking room reeked of smoke, our bedside tables and countertops were sticky, and the bed comforter notably had dirt stains all over. The floor was extremely dirty and on top of all that the shower did not work at all, and still had dirty towels in it from the last guests. The plastic bags for ice were dirty/moldy, there was no TV remote and the buttons did not work, but the front desk was nice and found us one. Lastly, our check out time online said noon, but we were rudely told it was 11 about 10 minutes before our check out time. Wish I could get my money back. Glad we were only there for one night.

Never staying at a red roof inn again!!!!
we booked our hotel in St joseph for our yearly family vacation. the pictures looked great and we have stay in red roofs before. when we arrived it was abysmal. the property is overgrown, dirty, and rancid. drug deals in the parking lot. trash everywhere. dirty diapers outside of doors of the ground. we booked a smoke free room because my daughter has asthma and immediately, when i walked in i could smell smoke. one of our beds were not made. the paint was chipping off the walls. I knew my family couldnt stay there for the night. i called hotels.com because thats who my reservation was through. they contacted the red roof inn and the lady working the desk said i needed to call them directly, so i did. i told her the conditions of the room and how my family couldnt stay there. she replied with. the managers not here to give you a refund. call back monday. hotels.com was awesome and said they would take care of it for me. but now i got a message from them saying red roof denied a refund. this place is a drug house. it is in poor condition. in the vending machine area there were broken down washers/dryers, cigarette butts everywhere... I would be ASHAMED to have the name red roof inn on whatever monstrosity this location is.

This was the worst hotel we have ever been to in our life and we have been to some cheap hotels. No staff in the office, took over 30 minutes for a staff member to show up to check people in who were waiting for maybe even longer than us. The hotel was in horrible shape. The bathroom was SO DIRTY. TV did not work. Pretty sure drugs and prostitution takes place here during the night. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I didn’t like a single thing. The cover was off the ac until. There was actual stool in the toilet. There was dirt and hair in the bedding. The towels were not washed. The floor left my feet black just from walking on the floor for a couple hours.

If I could give 0 stars that would be my rating, worst night of my life. When opening the door there is an intense musty and cigarette smell (even though it is non-smoking). The walls, door, floor and ceiling are black with dirt and mold. A smell of I don't know what came out of the air conditioning. More mold around the bath. almost no hot water. The hairdryer didn't work. In short, avoid this place at all costs. We wanted to leave immediately even if we lost $223 but the other places nearby were full. I'm not sure how EXPEDIA works but I can't believe it suggests this place, it's UNSALUTE

Hate yourself? Stay here!
This hotel, and this company as a whole, should be razed. I'm no stranger to budget hotels, I travel solo often and just needed a room with a bed. This was barely that. When I arrived at 1am, I was told someone incorrectly checked me in 10 hours earlier and that I might not have a room. It was eventually figured out, I got a room. Minor inconvenience at this point. In the morning, I asked for the GM (as suggested by the night staff) and was immediately berated and embarrassed by the 3 employees hanging out at the desk. They literally laughed at me and refused any help. When I left, another guest followed me out just to make sure I was okay. Since then, I've been calling and emailing with this location's GM and the Red Roof main service line since they promised some type of compensation (their garbage rewards points, so not really much comp). It's now been FIVE WEEKS, and each time I reach out, I'm told "points are on their way!" Except they're not. At this point I'm fueled by spite for this absolute nightmare of a company. I've stayed in some real dumpster roach motels - and be assured that this is certainly one of them - but I will never stay in another Red Roof after the experience with their on-site staff, GM, and corporate. I paid too much for a room that was ultimately given to someone else, and to be laughed at by the staff, and to be strung along by their customer service. Stay literally anywhere else. Sleep in your car, it will have more amenities and better service.
