Hotel 1868 was such a smooth stay and a breath of fresh air for my stays in the US. Staff were all friendly and it was very easy to deal with all my queries around package delivery, luggage storage and check out. Room was spacious, clean with a great bathroom, and came with complementary bottled water which is always a bonus. Conveniently located next to the red line to get around. Just a really really nice experience staying here!

Cute hotel, comfortable rooms, convenient location. Only issues were 1) we tried calling 4 times to let them know flight was significantly delayed, and no one ever answered the phone, and 2) there is a frosted glass window between the bathroom and the bedroom, which means if anyone turns on the bathroom light, the bedroom is illuminated (which woke both of us up at different points during the stay).

A very modern, clean, attractive new-build. The room was a bit on the small side but very attractive and had 10-foot ceilings. Bed was very good, TV was large enough to see easily (many hotels have TVs that are too small). The bathroom was large and very attractive, but the door to the bathroom was a "barn door", not a traditional door so the seal was not good and bathroom sounds could be heard in the main room. No microwave in the room. The "parking" that the hotel offers is only valet parking at over $30 and street parking is almost impossible.

Really lovely hotel. Everything looks fresh and welcoming. Staff are lovely. The scent and the music are shared with guests throughout the hotel (room floors and lobby) which just made it so relaxing.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. The rooms are small, but super smart with storage. We had two rooms reserved. My husband and I were at the end of the hall, which was a room on the side of the hotel facing a side street and the main street. My sister had a room that was on the backside of the hotel facing parking. We had a lot of street noise from our room. We could hear cars and the crosswalk alert. With that said, there wasn’t a lot of movement late at night, so the noise was minimal, but expect to hear a lot in the morning. My sister didn’t hear any major noises from her room during any part of the day. The beds were comfy. I loved the location. You could walk to Harvard or hop on the Redline subway, which was across the street, to take you inside downtown Boston. It’s about a twenty minute drive from the airport.

I recently stayed at Hotel 1868 and had a mixed experience. The hotel itself was nice and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made a positive impression from the start. However, the room I stayed in left much to be desired. While the common areas of the hotel were well-maintained, my room area rug felt outdated and didn’t quite match the cleanliness of the room. It seemed like it could benefit from some deep cleaning or be replaced. One of the most frustrating aspects was the noise. The room was located right in front of the elevator, and unfortunately, the noise from the elevator was constant. On top of that, I could hear every step from the floor above and the sounds from the neighboring room, making it difficult to relax or sleep soundly. The lack of soundproofing was a real downside. Overall, while the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel were great, the room I stayed in wasn’t up to par. I would suggest requesting a room away from the elevator and possibly on a higher floor to minimize noise issues. Hopefully, the hotel will consider cleaning or replacing the area rug of the rooms to match the level of service they offer.

Fantastic bed! I only stayed one night, but still I miss this bed. :) Very tiny space, but that was fine for our quick stay before catching an early flight. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance — we landed at Barcelona for tapas and LOVED IT.

All in all, I had a very pleasant experience here. My only complaint would be that it was nearly impossible to sleep in due to how very apparent the people walking around in the room above me was in the morning. Other than that, the property was in excellent condition, and its proximity directly across the street from the Porter stop on the T made for easy transportation.
