Tatty exterior, clean modern and updated interior
Low expectations when driving into the hotel as the carpark surface was full of potholes and the exterior of the hotel was very tatty, tired and in need of repair. Pleasantly surprised when entering reception. The hotel has been updated and is modern and clean. Rooms have also been refurbished and are up to date.

Great convenient location. Clean and well equipped room. Good leisure facilities. Organisation could be improved - asked for a cot to be provided at booking, again prior to arrival, and on arrival and assured it would be in room. Not present and had to wait for staff to find it. Watch out for large pot holes in the car park!

It's about 9 years since we last stayed at this hotel and I am glad we made a return. The staff were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The air con was not working in the building and a fan was provided for the room. The hotel was quite and there was plewnty of parking. Plenty of breakfast options and an amazing shower in the bathroom. Food was also delicious. There were some downsides. We felt the evening menu was a little limited in the restaurant, the quality of food was superb though and the serving staff brought everything with a smile. I couldn't pick anyone person as sthey all srood out. The car park has pot holes, etc. Which is a real shame and it would be good to get the pot holes filled in. There was no hook in the bathroom, one of the clasps on the windows was damaged and the air con was not working (as previously mentioned) thankfully it was not too hot. The room was lovely, although it was disappointing that with 2 of us in the room there was only 1 chair. There was sufficient room for a second chair and possibly even a table. Wardrobe was good although very few hangers in it, also the shelves in it would have been better on the wall under the TV. The safe was an excellent idea for storing valuable and proved useful. the room was a good sizr.

Great hotel. From the outside, looks quite rundown. The potholes in the carpark are awful. I was pleasantly surprised as soon as i entered the hotel. Everything looks recently refurbished. Our room was clean and inviting. The bar meals were fantastic as was breakfast the following morning.

For over 24 hours there was a tray piled with dirty plates contains foods and rubbish in the corridor close to our room. Also fire doors were lodged open and others that were shut did not appear to fit according to fire safety and regulation. Both of these complaints were expressed to staff on duty at the reception desk.
