Great place!
Absolutely the best location to explore the Canyons! Nice, friendly and efficient service. Clean, spacious rooms with 2 Queen beds. Cafeteria open 6am-9pm serving nutitional breakfast and traditional Navajo food. Blue corn pancakes are to die for! šŸ˜‹

I liked the peace and quiet, scenic location, architecture, and convenient cafeteria. However, I didn't like the cleaning lady knocking on my door at 9 am, and waking me up, to see if I would be extending my stay.

The room, the amenities, the area and the cafeteria are all excellent. The only problem was the reception clerk who checked us in. She was sullen, curt, and did not seem happy to see us at all.

We chose this property for its proximity to Canyon de Chelly, and were pleasantly surprised by it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the grounds were spacious and well kept. We ate 2 meals at the onsite cafeteria, and loved that they offered local dishes like Navajo tacos, fry bread, and blue corn pancakes. The portions were really big, so we could've shared instead of getting our own. Above all else, their staff was amazing! From the front desk to the cafeteria staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. We even met one of the cooks at breakfast when she delivered our food, and she was just as friendly as the rest. We were very pleased with our stay here.

Based on the positive reviews I read about Thunderbird Lodge, I booked a room for one night of my cross country trip. I'm so glad I did! Everything was just right, from the clean and comfortable room, to the nearby cafeteria, to the check in and out, to the convenient access to Canyon de Chelly. It was a great choice!

I like that the room was very clean. I did not have to ask for extra towels there were enough for our party of three. Also there was an iron and iron board. I did not stay long enough to enjoy the outside patio. Also the food was excellent.

Our room was run down and cheaply appointed. The deadbolt on the main door did not work. The room HVAC was a through-the-wall window unit and noisy. The door to the bathroom did not close properly, and the bathtub surround had major cracks in several places. The bed had six pillows, each of which was rock-hard. Among the worst rooms I have ever rented. The restaurant did not look clean, and food was served cafeteria style. Stear clear of this place.
