They common areas of the property are STUNNING. The room was just ok. Its an old property so I wasn't expecting a modern room. However, the bathroom cabinets had the doors removed leaving almost a shell of a cabinet. The shower lack hot water and almost no water pressure. It felt like the room overall needs a renovation, strange wall feature that felt like a band aid, old carpeting and a tad musty. Its an iconic location and hotel with a deep history. It is also on the upper price point because the hotel is iconic. I hope they can improve the overall quality of the rooms.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was nice but the bathroom had seen better days with dirty caulking and grout. Some of the doors to the rooms were paint chipped. The place net some TzLC

Charming hotel with some fixable issues
Service provided by valet, front desk and restaurants were top notch; however, we did experience several issues throughout stay. Thermostat in room did not work and the room was on AC upon arrival. Outside temp was ~20 degrees. Lobby and hallway were comfortable. We tried to call and notify front desk using the room speed dial, but it just kept ringing (not sure if programmed correctly because we experienced another issue later). After going down to the front desk, they were able to send someone up to adjust the heat, but the adjustment only worked for a few hours. We woke to the room freezing, again. Next day we came back to our room keys not working and asked the front desk to fix the heat again, which they did promptly. However, the room became hot later in the stay and we didnā€™t want to keep going to the front desk and bothering the technician to adjust the unit. Final night we tried to use the speed dial for room service and were directed to 911. Could be an issue during emergency. Ended up having to get dressed and go down to the restaurant to eat, which was delicious and service was great. It is an old, charming hotel and hot water takes about 5 min to heat up. Lastly, my fiance used the robe hanging in the closet to find that it smelled of menā€™s cologne. Perhaps the house keeping did not wash it. She left it on the floor for them to take after first night, but they just hung it back up (perhaps protocol and they didnā€™t know?). Overall staff was great, but hotel issues

The heat in the room did not work. The thermostat was not even functioning. I understand in old buildings itā€™s harder, but they did not listen at the front desk when I said the thermostat did not even light up. So at 4 am, they sent maintenance. Who checked that none of the pipes were hot. Then he went to the basement to adjust it, still with no way to adjust it myself. After 20 min I called the front desk again and asked what was happening and they said ā€œdid you tell maintenance what temperature you wanted it?ā€ How will they adjust the temp for ONE room from the basement? Maintenance came up (he was very very nice) and said itā€™s broken. Would you like to move rooms. At this point it was 5 am. Moving rooms should have been the first option. The next room the thermostat said it could adjust the temp. I set it to 75. It never made it above 67. I have raynauds which is VERY painful when I am cold. I put on a hoodie, socks, pants and hat to sleep. I am not rich, a single mom, the hotel is EXPENSIVE. If a guest calls at 4 am with a problem prevents sleeping, itā€™s not time to send maintenance to fix it. The hotel itself was beautiful,. I am obsessed with history. The Brown Palace has been on my bucket list forever and Halloween was my birthday and it was a tough day. Such a bummer that the stay was so difficult. The new room had paint splattered on the carpet and everything was dusty. Really broke my heart.

The rooms were extremely HOT had to call for some to fix it. The tavern charged me 110.10 for 2 beverages that should have only 28$. There is no shuttles nothing to get any place when the charge you 60$ to park your vehicle per day For the price they charge for rooms they should be some sort of transportation

The Brown Palace - Historical Experience
The Brown Palace continues to provide excellent service. The hotel is well maintained especially given its history. It is amazing to think the Brown Palace opened in August 1892. Highly recommend staying at the hotel and enjoying the afternoon tea. An experience well worth the stay.

A wonderful stay at the Brown Palace. I will be staying there again for sure! On Sunday morning there was a Jazz Brunch and the band was extremely good. Music wasnā€™t too loud and sitting near the band, I was still able to have a conversation with my daughter. The food was also very good. Everything at the hotel was wonderful except for two very minor issues. The food at the piano/bar lounge was not great and my room had a stale smell about it, which was mitigated by turning the fan on high for a while. Otherwise this was a great stay and I will be back!

I have a mixed review. On the one hand, I enjoyed this hotel a lot. It is really nice and the staff are also really nice and helpful. My husband and I stayed for our wedding anniversary. They offered us complementary champaign. Which was really nice. The room was small but we didnā€™t mind. I would stay again. Why itā€™s mixed is the fees. The hotel originally charged my card the full room amount bc it didnā€™t see I paid through Expedia. Expedia says on the reservation that my total included taxes and fees. I knew Iā€™d pay extra for parking, but the hotel charged me an extra $195 a night. Iā€™m assuming they recouped the bargain I thought I got though Expedia. I donā€™t know who I blame. I guess Iā€™d recommend not reserving a room through Expedia if you want to stay at this hotel. This is a Marriot hotel and itā€™d be easier negotiating fees if you book through Marriot. I feel like my hands are tied because I went through Expedia.
