***************************************** more info *********************************
The Lake: appx 120 acres. 29 feet deep. Spring fed, clear, and cool. There is a DNR boat launch at the end of the road. Several pairs of loons live on the lake. DNR has a website with lake info:

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html

key in ‘white’ and ‘st. louis’ for county.. several ‘white’lakes pop up.. our should be the first one.. (my lake is shaped like a kidney bean.):

Fishing quality. I would say average/above average. Walleye, Northern, Bass. I had someone catch 30 walleye in 2012 and a dozen in 2013 over several days. DNR has stocked Walleye several times over the past six years.

The cabin: This is a three season cabin. Oil furnace, wood fireplace, one electric floor space heater. Ikea kitchen cabinets, kitchen table, kitchen countertop, queen bed, wardrobe, night stand, chest of drawers, and desk. There are new floors, log chair, two log futons ( all three recline for sleeping.... so a single and two full ) The futons are full and sleep two, the chair could sleep one child and the queen bed sleeps two. Full kitchen will full size refrigerator and electric glass-top stove. Hot/cold running water. 100+ VHS tapes. brand new 50” android t.v. high speed internet. free.

Flat lakeshore… water is waist deep at end of dock. Sand/gravel swimming area near dock. Nice sunny deck overlooks the lake and the front yard. Appx 100’ x 100’ front yard.. great for yard games, Frisbee, croquet, etc. (see website photos ). Firepit.

There is a second building out back.. appx 30 feet behind the main cabin. This serves as a bathroom ( front half) and shed/storage (back half). The bathroom is appx 10X14 with hot and cold running water to the Ikea sink and shower stall, and some storage.

Included: free high-speed internet and wi-fi. Full size stove, refrigerator, 14 foot aluminum boat, two oars, lawn chairs, gas grill, brand new 50” android connect right up to internet and youtube, netflix, etc. VHS player, 100+ VHS features, plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, toaster, microwave oven, coffeemaker, knife set, bedroom alarm clock, radio.

Usually available: toilet paper, hand & dish soap, gas for the gas grill, working flashlight, matches.

Not included in the rent: linen, food, bottled water, laundry, firewood ( see note at bottom). There are linens in the cabin but these are for our personal use.

Internet/cell: FrontierNet high speed internet. most cell phones reach the cabin.

Neighbors. 100’ of private frontage. Neighbors separated by stands of trees/shrubs. Most cabins on White Lake are small and seasonal. Less than a dozen people live on the lake year round. Neighbors, while friendly, appreciate their privacy. ( thanks ).

Noise: May, Sept, October are all quiet months. June – Aug weekdays are almost always quiet but weekends can be busy. After the 4th, things quiet down a bit.

Possible show-stoppers: 1.) The water is drawn from the spring-fed lake and is unfiltered (so you should bring bottled water to drink). 2.) Like I already mentioned, bathroom is in a separate building 30 feet behind the cabin & toilet is a campground-style outhouse ( non-flush ).

Notes: Please use the supplies prudently and save some for the next guests. The swimming raft off the dock is not ours.. it’s the neighbors so do not use it. Do not strip bark from trees. Do not take firewood from neighbor’s stacks.

Whatever you decide to do, have a great vacation! Life is short, enjoy it!

Firewood note: it is technically NOT included because of a past few renters who abused my generosity and burned 24/7 until it was all gone ( $250 of wood ). Please enjoy a bonfire on me, but past a certain point, I would appreciate compensation ($) in order to keep it stocked. I’d rather have you burn my wood than 1.) run to Hugo’s for a $10 bundle, 2.) strip birch bark 3.) take wood from my neighbor.

Please support local businesses! Hugos and Pequwayan Inn are very welcoming of guests. Please support them.

The location is remote and perfect place to distress and rewind, bring heavy blankets, firewood not provided, bring your shampoo, conditioner. No heat in the living room.

Cute little cabin
My family and I had a great time at this cabin. It was a short but sweet getaway. I really love the lake, the water is so clean! Some things to note for future guests - the cabin is pretty close to other cabins so it doesn’t feel remote. There were people on the other side of the lake setting off fireworks - again not remote if that’s what you’re looking for. The main cabin has one queen bed and two futons, a full kitchen, living room with TV and WiFi. My kids act like they’re gonna die without WiFi so that was crucial. The bathroom is in a separate building behind the cabin. It had outhouse type toilets, running water to a sink and shower. The tap water come straight from the lake so DO. NOT DRINK the tap water. Make sure to bring bottled water. In this sense the cabin is more rustic than some people would prefer. The host was kind enough to offer free firewood which was great for making a fire and roasting some marshmallows. We had fun and hope to come back!

This is a well maintained cabin with detached clean bathroom building that was a pleasure to use. The deck pointing toward the lake was our favorite, although the bugs were terrible when no wind. We loved that there was internet and the refrigerator, stove, and sink all worked. The shower in the bathroom building is cold water only, so beware of that. It wasn't all that great, so I only used it once. Unseen and it didn't make a difference to our use, but the foundation of the building is rotting from water damage from the shower as it's leaking. Also, there is no AC and the fans also didn't work due to fuse/outlet issues, so beware of that. We instead opened all the windows. How hot it was was the biggest challenge. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and the stars were beautiful for astrophotography.

Was not told there is no indoor toilet. My wife is 6months pregnant has to use the bathroom at least 3 times a night if I had known she had to go outside and go in a hole would never have booked this place. I did not understand running water and no toilet inside. The bugs are horrible would not recommend this place other then for a fishing trip for guys defiantly not a weekend getaway for couples linens not cleaned after a stay defiantly would not want to stay here in fact we left without staying!

Unplug & Unwind
My friends and I stayed here to get away and just unwind. It was perfect!!! I slept in the Queen bed and I slept so good! The water is clear. We enjoyed coffee on the dock. We brought kayaks and took a cruise each morning. During the day we went to Hugo’s for the Brimson Market and Two Harbor for pies at Betty’s. We found a lil book nook that we loved in town and enjoyed browsing the neat stuff at Burlington Station. Note: the Wi-Fi did not work. Only a AT&T worked at the cabin. Wasn’t a big deal to us since we were unplugging but for emergencies it would be nice. The wood provided was wet (it rained while we were there) so we grabbed some from Hugo’s. We were able to drop our garbage off at Pequaywan Inn For $5 - that place is definitely on our to do list on our next trip. Bring bug spray for the flies. :) Highly recommend for a little getaway! We will be back.

Beautiful, peaceful, a steal for the value
My boyfriend and I stayed from a Monday to Friday in July for his birthday. I expected it to be quiet, but it was beyond my expectations! It was just a gorgeous private lake, and the view of the stars at night were phenomenal. An internet issue popped up during our stay, but it was a non-issue for us, as we both had phone service (t-mobile) in the area, which was a happy surprise . The owner was the one who actually brought it to our attention, and was super responsive to our communications, which was appreciated. Everything in the cabin and separate bathroom/shower were as expected. It was very clean in the cabin, and plenty of supplies were available to us for cooking/cleaning. An aluminum rowboat was available for our use, which was nice! And the swimming right off the dock was great, not weedy/mucky at all. The only downside was the bugs. Please prepare ahead for this and bring bug spray, and a bug fogger, especially for after it rains. Luckily my bf thought it was fun to make a sport of it, and he brought his salt gun to shoot flies. If you are looking for a great deal, and somewhere quiet and private, it fits the bill. However, please remember you get what you pay for, and it's quite rustic. I still think was a steal, for the money we spent.

Couple weekend get away from the big city
Needs better fuse or breaker for the water pump to pump water. The fuse keep disconnect and need a little adjust to work all the time. We never use the shower because it only hold 6 gallons of hot water only according to the owner. The toilet is a rust toilet only and the wife didn't like it.

Would have been good if not for electrical issues.
On the way to the property I was informed by the owner that I would have to buy a $10 pack of fuses to install at the cabin. When I arrived, I spent a half an hour trying to get the fuse for the water pump to work, and nearly shocked myself on the mangled socket. The heated water was not working for the entirety of our stay. Several outlets blew during our stay, and the furnace was not functioning. The owner never reimbursed me for the fuses and we ended up leaving a day early because of the state of the electricity and our general dissatisfaction with the stay.
