I never share reviews, I just read them, but this one is more than worthy. We just got home from the Beach House. I was there with two senior boys on their senior trip and an 8th grade boy, we had a King size bed a pull out sofa and also an air mattress. This looks like a one bedroom apartment! I haven’t stayed in a room like this before. It has a fully stocked kitchen so we got groceries before we checked in. Pots, pans, dishes..even a crock pot! The beach is literally in the back yard. There’s a washer and dryer in every room so I didn’t come home and wash clothes! We were able to cook yummy breakfast and lunch, went out for dinner and late night ice cream (all in very close proximity). There are little things here, like salt and pepper or a dish of tide for clothes. Popcorn they left in the microwave to pop. Or sugar and coffee creamer for the drip coffee they have. No, the pool is not open, but it doesn’t matter. They are working so hard to get things open, and open it is. The bed was comfortable and the pillows weee nice! They have some umbrellas and chairs you can get from the office. The only thing I would’ve changed is that the towels were scratchy on our sunburn! But I get it, they’re in the sand as well as rhe bath! Please if you are a family, stay here. I’m picky and I want a safe, and clean place, this is it. Anyone who has a different review forgets there was a hurricane. I’d stay again 100 times over!

This property & the area are still rebuilding after Hurricane Ian. Expect less than ideal conditions. Edison is a relatively good value. It is on a public beach so noise is a factor. View is good. Beach umbrellas & chairs can be checked out for the duration of the stay. Negatives: Towels are scratchy & sparse. Maid service was little. Nothing got thoroughly cleaned in our 5 day stay. But the positives outweighed the negative- Bed was comfortable & sheets were fine. There was a washer & dryer in the suite & a mini kitchen. All in all a good enough experience. I’m sure things will continue to improve. There was a crew working on the building daily. Traffic on & off the island can be backed up for over an hour. Time your travel to avoid sitting in your vehicle & doing nothing.

Wonderful location.
The whole area is still effected by Hurricane Ian, and this hotel was also under renovation from outside (painting, pool and deck). This of course would be good to know when making a reservation, but leaving that aside a wonderful place to stay!

Clearly they are trying to re-build after Hurricane Ian. We thought giving them business would help in the recovery effort. Very nice folks, especially Annie, who was the first to greet us! Spacious and well supplied two bedroom place.

Well done Edison Beach! Perfect for our quick trip. My mom, my daughter and I. Well equipped with drip coffee pot and well stocked for cooking multiple dinners. Thanks to Annie Liz and Marlene for keeping us informed and they were so helpful during our entire trip. We walked very morning and treated ourselves to a fancy coffe at MoJo’s coffee/breakfast food truck. Loved parking the car and not getting back in until we headed home. Very comfy beds. Very clean. Beach chairs and umbrellas included! The area is on the mend from Hurricane Ian so know FMB looks very different but felt helpful pumping funds back to the area both with the hotel and local restaurants. So a bit of noise, sure, but a true sign of the area’s recovery; well worth it. Thank you!

Work in progress, still our favorite beach hotel
As of 2/29/24, there is still a lot of work being done on the site. It's to be expected, and didnt take away from our trip at all. We're looking forward to when they have the pool functioning again, but we wouldn't have used it this week anyway. Annie is so kind and helpful, great communication.

Quiet spot
Perfect spot for our girls weekend. While they are in process of rebuilding, the service is very attentive. The views are incredible. Great for a quiet getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room and building were very nice. The shower was seriously lacking on water pressure, but easy fix really. They are still doing construction on the ground floor with the pool remodel and stuff, so definitely noisy early on the week days, but that was expected. The view from our room was amazing and the proximity to the beach and shopping and restaurants was perfect!

The staff at Edison was SO friendly. We have zero complaints about our stay. They are currently under construction, understandably so from hurricane Ian damage. This is clearly outlined on their webpage. The noise was minimal in our opinion. Our room (207) had a terrific view. We were right on the beach. The building and rooms are quite outdated, but it’s clean and comfortable, so this didn’t bother us.

Ok for what it is
Well…. The location is amazing. One of the only hotels on the beach as of 2-2024. They are working in the pool and lower levels. Noise is not bad. The staff is amazing and helpful. Rooms are typical Florida beach front hotels. Beds could be updated. Think I say a build date from 1972 on my mattress. Definitely friendly area and for a beach front hotel. This will do.
