This our second year staying at The Island resort. Our family loves it so much and that’s why it’s our family vacation spot every year. We did notice how the prices of things are getting a little out of hand. $5.50 for orange juice is a little crazy. $14 plus tip for a mixed drink that is mainly ice is way too high as well.other than the prices, the resort is great and very family friendly.

I liked the Grotto pool but was very cold. Music should have been more beach music like after 5:00 Jimmy Buffet songs till close. The heated pool was nice. The grounds were well kept. My room was noisy with refrigerator ran loudly in room 3007 and customers in next room noisy and could hear everyone come down hall and hear the ice machine fill ice buckets. Buffet breakfast was good. Overall the resort was good.

Everything was great. But the walls were very thin. You could hear everything. Did not like that the neighbors turned up the music so loud so they could have sex, in which was very noisy. We had to leave the room at one point. It was grossing my daughter out. They did this several times. I understand a lot of people may stay for their honeymoon. It would be nice if they showed some respect for young ears or people in general.

I’ll start with the good and then the not so good, the good, check in was prompt and effective, food on premises was great, drinks were fantastic, the pool does not seem to be heated, but was very nice and refreshing, the grotto bar is a must, this would be a great family vacation with a couple changes …. The beach out front is everything you could ever want for a Florida Beach, white sugar, sand, Clear water! You’re about a quarter mile from the pier and just a walk to some great restaurants Now I’ll get to the bad, there is a no smoking policy at the hotel however, on several occasions, I walked out to my beachfront balcony to be overwhelmed with the smell of marijuana smoke, each time I called management and they seemed to not be concerned it definitely put a downer on the last couple days of my trip, for my inconvenience, the resort waived my parking fee, which was a nice gesture, but I honestly expected them to do more The second issue came when we were in the spa, there was a couple that was absolutely fall down, drunk, loud and vulgar, the male ended up, hugging and kissing on some innocent guy that finally got pissed off enough to get up and leave, again I notified management And nothing was done. That couple eventually left this raises, some concerns with lack of security, this very well could have been an isolated event. My suggestion to ownership would be to get more management on premises and more security presence, I would still return.

It was a beautiful place. Everything was great but my room. I booked a suite with an ocean view. My room was on the bottom floor. No ocean view. I had a view of tables and sand dunes on the bottom floor. I was told they only have 5 suites and they were booked. I had a great time anyways but if u want ocean view i would call and make sure you're not on the bottom because its the same price.

I feel like we got catfished…none of the pictures show the area we stayed in….we thought we were getting a balcony and nice view and that was not the case. There is no elevators so don’t pack a lot. We showed up and was slapped in the face with a $500 fee for parking and resort fees that we were not expecting. Our room still had garbage from the previous person who stayed. The walls are very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING. Every person I spoke to was extremely rude and I contacted customer services and they basically said oh well go to the front desk if I wanted. Me and my husband was very disappointed.

It was a good stay! I probably would stay again, however I prefer more space in the room. You could tell it was an upgraded old hotel, but it was not bad. My only complaint is there were no instructions given at check in. We had to call the desk to find out basic information like when the pool closed and what the hours of breakfast would be. I bought the breakfast vouchers for 3 days worth and only used once. Breakfast was not worth the extra money.
