It was a great stay except the coffee machine in the room looked dirty and it should have been mentioned that one of the pools would be closed for maintenance and being charged for a chair at the pool is ridiculous the elevators were a little sketchy but overall it was a nice place to stay

My wife and I were here for 5 days in a standard king room, here were our pros and cons: Pros: clean great buffet nice beach comfortable bed Cons: Small room your curtains always need to be closed because you're on display Spotty WiFi noise easily enters the room from the outside Overall its a fine place to stay and a good value but its not going to blow anyone away with the amenities.

Our room felt like a motel. Nothing like the pictures on their website. Their heated pool was down for maintenance and was never told to us prior. Their main pool with the grotto was not swimable. It was 45 degrees! Since the heated pool was down I felt that they should have tried warming up the other pool. The staff were super nice though and the food at the Coastal kitchen was really good.

Very nicer smaller resort!
We loved this resort. It is smaller which made it so easy to get around and didn’t have to walk 5miles to do anything. They had a good variety of food and drinks including a Mexican food truck!! Also had a lot of activities throughout the day/evening. Staff were all very friendly. My only complaint is the heated pool was under construction which I wasn’t aware of when I booked it and the main pools water was so cold you couldn’t swim (even kids would stick one foot in and say nope)

We’ve stayed at The Island every October for last 8 years. The rooms are average but the grounds and pools are beautiful. Love the Tripp Tide and beachfront location. The front desk staff (Alexis) and lead housekeeper (Thelma) remember us each year are so nice and accommodating! It’s our home away from home!!!

This is more of an adult friendly resort, not really any food options for kids. They need to have hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets and an ice cream truck for the little ones.

We loved this property. The only that that frustrates me is we had no idea that we had to pay separate fees for parking and resort fees plus taxes on that and because we didn’t use cash we were charged another fee to use our debit card. So 5 days costed us an extra 257.00 that we didn’t know we had to pay. Other than that we have no complaints. We loved it and definitely will stay again. Our room was on the first floor with a patio facing the courtyard and it was a great room.

Everything was good. Servers and bartenders were very good. Room clean. Hotel does need to up grade system. No credit cards could be used or charges to room. They were sending people to atm.

All the staff was extremely polite. Very clean throughout the resort. Only thing that was disappointing was that the one pool that was warm was emptied a couple days after we were there for painting which i understand but the other pool with groto and walk up bar was extremely COLD! No getting used to it. But beach access was super easy. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful tropical feel. Disappointed the heated pool was closed for re surfacing. The water at the Grotto bar was ice cold! No closet space in our room.

Unfortunately the elevators were not working properly part of the time, the heated pool went under maintenance right after we got there, and the big pool was freezing!

The grotto stole the show with our son loving the waterfall. The view of the ocean was breathtaking. We will absolutely visit again!!
