Black Squirrel October Special 3rd night free!

Located in the charming village of Government Camp, a small ski-town on Mt. Hood, you are close to all the amenities, outdoor activities and restaurants. The cabin sits on a quiet wooded lot across the road from Summit and minutes from Skibowl, Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood Meadows.
With exposed log walls, vaulted ceilings, and northwest-themed decor throughout, this home has the feel of an alpine lodge while being the perfect size for small groups.
A custom made banquet and dining table provide a place for guests to hangout and build a fire while meals are prepared. The kitchen is well-stocked with new appliances and finishes. There's a coffeemaker, grinder, Aeropress and French press so coffee lovers can pack light.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor that have queen beds with hand-made headboards crafted by the owners of the cabin - both have lighting and one headboard even has outlets built in for charging that favorite device. There is another queen bedroom downstairs and a twin bunk room set up with a large TV. Between the three bedrooms and bunk area, there is room for eight guests.
Hangout in the loft overlooking the kitchen and dining area, and take a soak in the third floor hot tub high in the treetops.
The entry on ground level provides an easy way in for groceries and a secure spot for your adventure gear. The side porch is a great spot to hang out and light up the gas grill. On a clear day enjoy a hot cocoa in the the custom modern Adirondack chairs and the peak-a-boo view of the mountain top. This is a pet friendly home with a $60 pet fee per pet.

Government Camp House
Overall the house is very nice, but if you have a large group or family the kitchen is extremely small in my opinion to work in. No dishwasher as well! Pulling out of house onto main road can be difficult, not the easiest house access, but neighborhood is quiet!! Hot tub is located on the third floor. Communication with manager wasn't horrible but it also was not guest friendly!! Two times during the trip we had people walk into house without warning!!! Upon departure, you have to take the key back to rental agencies , if you are not headed that way, it adds a hour to leaving!!

Peaceful and relaxing
My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We found it to be a peaceful and relaxing place to recoup. The kitchen we was well equipped, the bedrooms were cozy and the hot tub was just what we needed. The only note I’d like to add is that the fireplace is a bit small. The property management will provide an “introductory amount of wood” so you’ll need to source firewood elsewhere if you want to have much of a fire going. The wood they sell in town was too long for the fireplace so you’ll want to bring a saw to cut it down in length. We would definitely come back!

Great cabin in great location
We stay in Government Camp every year at this time but first time at this location. It’s a nice place in a convenient and quiet location. Some sort of cable or satellite TV would be nice considering the rental cost, but I suppose you could bring a PC and stream too. Anyway, no complaints and dog friendly is a definite bonus!

Great Cabin
We rented this cabin in the summer as a base to explore Mount Hood and go hiking. Location is fantastic; we hiked Old Salmon River and had dinner at the Timberline Lodge. The cabin is very cute and well equipped; we cooked breakfast in. Cabin layout was great for our needs; we would stay again. Note if staying in summer the loft gets really warm.

Mostly great. Nice location. Lovely cabin. Internet never worked and it appears to be a recurring issue. Also, the driveway never gets plowed, for some reason. So be prepared to shovel your way to and from your car to the home. But it's a lovely, cozy cabin. Great place to stay.

Great location in Government Camp. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend getaway. Very quiet location, clean property and the upper level hot tub was nice. Cabin was well stocked and has everything we needed. Can’t wait to go back.

Enjoyed the Home and location very much.
We really enjoyed your home and especially the hot tub in the evenings. WE had to leave a day early due to the power being shut off, hoping that there is some refund for not being able to stay the last night. Great home in amazing setting
Beautiful home, clean, rustic but very comfortable. Very close to Govy and all there is to do in the area. Small kitchen with no dishwasher, adequately stocked since we cooked while staying there-but would recommend larger serving bowls. Would also recommend back up propane tank for grill-it ran out on us the first night. Having to retrieve and drop off key to home in Welches is a bit inconvenient, a lock box at the home for the key would be a great improvement. Would recommend when staying in Mt Hood area, and I highly recommend Mt Hood area, its amazing.

Woodland Oasis
The Black Squirrel was beautiful! Very clean and charmingly decorated. The space is great - it was hard to decide where to spend our time ! You can't beat the hot tub on the upper deck where you feel like you're up in the trees. Perfect for stargazing! The only issue we had was that the WiFi didn't work while we were there - but we really didn't need it since there was so much to do outside. Would definitely recommend!

Great winter cabin!
Great winter cabin. Super convenient location for any of the ski areas while making it feel like a secluded cabin in the woods. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, hot tub was lovely, kitchen had most of what is needed, the bottom floor mud room was great to knock off snowy boots. The one bathroom may be the only downside for a larger group. The rental company was super accommodating about key pickup and drop off. Would happily stay again.

Great ski weekend with the family
Cozy cabin in a fantastic location. Skiing, restaurants and hikes all very close. Well stocked kitchen with all the necessary appliances, pots and pans. We loved the wet room and TV room. The tree top hot tub was perfect for snowy apre ski evenings.
