Nice comfortable and clean room. Very good breakfast. Staff very polite. Dinner menu has changed and is not very suitable. It's a sort of tapas style but it just doesn't work for an English country hotel. The food was cooked well but the choice on the menu is disappointing and the plates arrive at different times, as they are cooked. On the second night of my stay I chose to eat at a local pub.

An excellent place to stay after a long international flight. From Rob at the front desk to Evan at the bar - and all other staff, including those in housekeeping and serving in the restaurant - they all make customer care a priority. The setting was tranquil and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed dining in the small on-site restaurant with only about a dozen tables. The food was tasty and the service was stellar. Definitely a place to return to again and again!

Our room was so small that there was nowhere to put down and open our two bags without blocking the door. Hotel was beautiful, and very clean staff were great and friendly, very polite Food was fresh and plentiful It was a very busy night with a wedding going on and lots of cruise passengers, but service was still spot on Only little complaint if you can call it that was burn stains in the carpet in the bedroom, it had been covered by the waste bin but it didnt affect the overall break Will definitely be retruning for another stay

I booked this venue through Expedia, making sure on my booking that I had 2 adults and a child, needing beds. This made a booking for a family room, and so I paid my money. However, upon arriving I found that the hotel hadn't provided me with a family room and instead offered me a put me up bed and a standard double. Apparently from the management at the hotel, Expedia didn't forward on to them, that a child was also coming. I therefore had to make the bed myself. Not ideal. I was advised that it this was to happen again, I spoke phone the hotel post booking and confirm my requirements. Not happy at all. Otherwise the room was clean, very warm, hotel grounds were lovely and good was tasty. I would stay here again.
