Great Spot
Lovely place to stop for a gig in Holmfirth, bang in the centre of town, welcoming and lively pub downstairs, reasonably priced drinks and food, the room was small but cosy, and had everything we needed, including Hot drinks and biscuits, a large tv, and toilet/shower. It was very quiet, and had a great sleep in the comfy bed, breakfast was spot on as well, definitely returning.

Really friendly with a nice cosy vibe...did not try food..but seeing people's plate's arriving looked lovely...Next time !...Lovely pint of Old Peculiar...with warm pork scratching....Heaven...Will definitely be back 😋 👍

My wife and I were made very welcome by Alison, friendly, quick check in and keen to help with anything. As was the lady that did breakfast which was really nice. As it is advertised as a "Boutique" B&B, we didn't feel that the room was anything different from other 'ordinary' pub B&B's that we've stayed in, small bedroom, the toilet seat was loose, as was the toilet roll holder and when I mentioned this on leaving, it was said that they were aware of it but it hadn't been fixed, which was a bit surprising. I think the key bit of feedback for me was that, on arrival, we were informed that we had to pay a £50 deposit in case of any damage during our stay, due to the fact that they had suffered damage from previous guests - I understand that, however, I think that should be made clear on booking e.g. what if people didn't have the additional £50? We were told that it would be refunded, hopefully by the next day but it actually took 3 days for the money to be refunded into our account. Other than that, an enjoyable stay.

Greeted as we approached the Hotel by loud live band music. Struggled to find someone to check us in. Had to push through crowded dance room with our luggage, then up ill lit stairs. Passed by rooms with piles of dirty towels outside. Our room was adequate, again the lighting was poor. The toilet seat was wobbly, and the toilet roll holder was coming off the wall. Dirty area of skirting board and plug sockets by the kettle table and radiator. However, the worst aspect of our one night stay, was the incredibly loud live music, right under our room. The thumping drums and bass actually made the furniture vibrate. We were told that the music would finish at 11.30pm. It stopped at 11.45pm, then there was more non live music and the sounds of chairs and tables being dragged and rearranged. Nothing in the hotel description explained there would be extremely loud live music at the hotel. We were tired and needed an early restful night. Instead this was a nightmare scenario. Just wanted to leave in the morning as soon as pssible, so did not stay for breakfast. We will be asking for a major refund.

Return to Holmfirth for a gig.
Last stayed at the Elephant & Castle 6yrs ago what a pleasant surprise on check-in, completely refurbed. Friendly, helpful staff, room was spotless and very comfortable, great breakfast which catered for my gluten free diet. Will stay again.

Lovely room, nice staff. Seemed expensive for type of property. Noice from the bar carried up into the bedroom until very late (it was a Saturday). Thought it unusual to be charged a deposit in case of damage, to be refunded to card later.

No wi fi in bedroom. Only english breakfast on offer but staff did offer egg alternative. Only one coffee allowed second cup chargeable as other breakfast alternative. Dedicated parking good. Had a long wait for check in due to staff shortage and busy bar.
