Really close to the main public beach of Waikiki, however property is a bit dated. Comes with kitchenette so you can self cater. Close to all the action, close to the beach if you into surfing on the cheap.

I reserved one room. But ended up booking another room for my family. Which is fine. That 2nd room was smelled like sewer. Location was great. It’s not in front of the beach but close enough. And there were restaurants around it so it’s very convenient; however, parking rates are expensive if you have a rental car. Room appears clean, but I’ll bet there are areas that are not as clean as they look. The shower curtain smelled in my room. Facility appears to be old and not very well maintained. I didn’t even feel comfortable getting into the pool. Also, walls are thin. We can hear everything. It was an ok stay, but I won’t be staying here again if I can help it.

The property is not clean. We had to clean our bathrooms on day one. The bedding was not changed on one of the beds, and it was yellow and smelly in some parts. The only positive thing is the location - only two blocks from Waikiki. This stay is not for everyone. If you can handle poor conditions and plan to stay mostly outside, go for it. Do not recommend coming with kids. The receptionist is super slow and unwilling to help with anything.

The Hotel staff is very rude and seems don't know their job, there was a luggage in the room that I was supposed to stay. It seems that the staff did not check the room if it's available before they issue my room key. The room was dirty unkept, the place is noisy and unsafe!!!

Space was dirty and disgusting, covers smelled and looked unwashed, ac was grimy and did not work properly, bathroom broke down and no one helped to fix it so I had to leave the property to use the toilet, which was more than inconvenient. It defeats the purpose of a hotel. When asked hours later if someone was going to fix it, they said there is no maintenance. When told I was going to check out and dispute the stay, the older lady that answered, said ok! Just like that! Dont waste your money. Even though its cheap, you dont get what you pay for. It should be closed down if they cant do their ONE job!

The noise bled through from the street, outside the room, and the walls of the next room. Not so good experience. Way less than what I expected considering what I was paying. Don’t do it if you’re looking for something quiet, relaxing, or you’re going to spend time in your room.

Royal Grove offers efficiency rooms, so you had options of going out or staying in for meals. Staff was very friendly and always willing to assist with my needs. Although, not on the list of high- end hotels it was clean and comfortable Very short walk away from Waikiki beach.

It is pretty tough to rate them properly. Location is outstanding, no doubt about that. And some members of the staff are really nice and helpful. Problem is that the rooms don’t look like AT ALL like advertised and when talk about this matter , they told me that pictures were for references only and that I can leave if I am not happy with it. How do that in high season in Hawaii last minute? That manager was pretty rude and I firmly think that if you advertised pictures, your rooms need to stick to it. Without trying to help at all, and no consideration for the price paid for this trip (flights hotel), I can ensure that I would have DEFINITELY pick up an other hotel and pay a little more prior to the booking. It is sad that they use pics of remodeled few rooms to lure people in. Location is great, majority of the staff is great. But that luring definitely ruined this dream vacation… and Orbitz didn’t helped well when the problem was submitted to them. Try your luck and if you got one of the new rooms, you would be set! If not? Expect old like very old school rooms, tiny, noise from the streets due to bad isolation. It is your call. For the staff (a lot of them)? I would recommend. Location? Definitely. Hotel? Definitely not.

One Front desk worker is rude, hotel is very outdated. Old broken unpainted front door to the room. Rest room door gets stuck, have to pull it open with so much force, it's loud and don't close or open properly. Ac unit in room leaks all over the Sofa/pull out bed. Roaches and little bugs all over the room. Brought all this up to their attention and they looked at my son and me like if we are ok with everything or "want them to check it out" they know about their issues and don't bother to repair. You get less than what you pay for. Save money and don't book here.
