Spectacular sunset and awesome views from my lanai
I had a good experience @ The Modern Honolulu. My room had a lanai, great city views, mountain, harbor and ocean views. The best part was the sunset, awesome view from my lanai! The room was clean, the housekeeper and the staff were all nice and friendly. My only complaint was the elevator noise at night.The swooshing noise was annoying.

The front desk staff are awesome- Courtney is amazing! The parking staff are great as well! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It was easy to check in and check out! Hotel is close to Magic Island, easy to get to the Ala Moana Mall and a short Uber ride to the center of Waikiki shopping and restaurants. The activities such as Yoga and Lei making was a bonus! What did I like about the property was that all staff was friendly kind and nice what I did not like about the whole property in general is that no matter how much money I spend on my room there was no complimentary breakfast and the breakfast that was there did not work for my 1-year-old and 4-year-old no kids menu so I would have to get up and go to McDonald's which is crazy to me spending all this money you would think they would have a kids menu

Very convenient self paid parking. This is within distance to Waikiki beach, ala moana mall (nice food court here), nice sunset views. We drove to east and northwest, and northeast area of the island, and this hotel is pretty much equally located to all direction. Liked to stay here v much. One point to be noted, that our room sliding window only opened 4 inches or so. Would be better if opened a little more than that.

Staff is absolutely amazing. Kind and ready to help at anytime. Very friendly and accommodating. We had a great time. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because hotel is undergoing renovations. Our room was always well supplied in anything we needed and clean. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable.
