The Poas Lodge is located 30 kilometres from the centre of Horquetas. Another option is the Peace Lodge, which is located 25 kilometres away. Alternatively, you could book a bed at the Poas Volcano Lodge or the La Catalina Hotel and Suites.

You'd have to be a Wally to leave Horquetas without seeing the other things on offer in Central Valley. Visit the ruins in Central Valley, or enjoy the area's rural landscapes, forests and mountains. Or join the locals hiking while you are here.

Spend the day exploring the Central Park, San Pedro Mall and Amusement Park San Jose, which you'll find in San Jose, 45 kilometres to the south of Horquetas. Before you head home, why not spend an afternoon rubbing shoulders and cheering along with Central Valley sports obsessives at a local sporting fixture? You'll find Saprissa Stadium 40 kilometres to the south of Horquetas. The Hotel Bougainvillea and the Isla Los Angeles Costa Rica are close to the action.
