Hostal del Sol is located at the top of Isla del Sol. As we were unaccustomed to the altitude, and because we were travelling with all of our backpacks, it took us a good 45 minutes to reach the hostal from the Yumani port due to the climb. However, the climb was worth it and the hostal was at the foot of a hill that offered amazing views. The hostal was also located close to some great restaurants with fantastic views as well (would recommend the Inti Jalanta restaurant - the grilled trout is fresh and surprisingly tasty). It is a little bit hard to find, but if you ask the locals, they are friendly and will point you in the right direction. Once you reach the restaurant, find the yellow house behind the restaurant, and go to the back through the gate on the right to find the "office".
The hostel has bare basics - a place to sleep, a washroom, electricity and some wi-fi. The room was decently comfortable, although the shower can only provide hot water through a heating element. Getting hot water means limiting the water flow in order for the heating element to heat up the water sufficiently before it comes out of the shower head. This means that the water pressure will be low, but having a warm shower on the island wasn't bad at all.
The wi-fi was available, but it is certainly better at the restaurant where breakfast was served. Even at the restaurant, the wi-fi wasn't really fast, but one can do some surfing.
Overall, a pretty good hostel.
