Love the courtyard, but this time it was WAY too noisy, some one above us talked loud as fk in the midnight, and the balcony door doesn't really help. The ac sounds like a motorcycle when it turns on and you can't turn it off because the room is WAY too warm, so it's almost impossible to sleep.

I loved the cozy, retro vibes of this hotel. It was always a nice, relaxing place to come back to after a long day. Bonus points for being so close to the Universal park and Warner Brothers Studios.

Great vibe and outdoor pool area with a family friendly movie offered in the evening. Water heated to 83F/27C but still feels cool on a cooler day. In-room air conditioning unit was very quiet. Free shuttle to Universal with multiple pickup and drop off times throughout the day. Laundry is coin operated: $3 each for washer and dryer, free detergent. Phone calls to numbers outside the property are quite expensive, even if to local numbers.

We took our nephews to Universal Studios and decided to stay at The Garland. It was the best decision we made. Everyone was so nice, check-in was fast and easy, the property and room were very clean and the pool area was of my favorites. My nephews said it was their favorite hotel now.

They have lots of events. On Friday and Saturday they show a movie in the pool area, great for everyone and kids. All of the staff were very friendly, the food akd drinks were great. The trolley service to Universal is awesome!
