The over water bungalows are absolutely breathtaking and we definitely recommend them. The view is stunning, as is the snorkelling around the bungalow. The coral and fish are beautiful, and the room gives that exotic/island feel. Unfortunately, like many other reviews, we can't recommend the restaurants on site. You can get better and cheaper food from the food trucks. The dinner buffet was 20,000xpf but the quality was closer to 2,000xpf. Do not waste your money on food at the Sofitel restaurants.

Wonderful hotel, lovely staff, brilliant location just across from a mall with French supermarket, pharmacy etc. Beautiful pool with views across the ocean to Moorea. We hope to stay here again.

Car Hire in Mahina

Did you know that Europcar and Hertz are only a few minutes from the baggage claim at Tahiti Faaa International Airport? You'll be driving off down the highway just moments after your plane touches down.

You'll have a hard time getting a ride in the heart of town. We'd recommend visiting Hertz in the nearby neighbourhood of Taunoa. It's located at Route De Ceinture Tipaerui, just a kilometre from the downtown area.
