Country inn and suites are typically nice and clean; not this one. Walked in to checkin and the smell was gross but we had already booked so we had to give it a chance. Checkin is at 3pm, we arrive after 4 and got our room and got to the 3rd floor to find our room had not been cleaned literally the bed was unmade, towel on bathroom floor and the previous guest key cards still in the room. Called front desk and a man came up and was grilling us asking if we had done this and obviously no as we had only walked in. Then they send a woman up to ask the same question, no apology just made us lug our stuff and all our kids back to the 2nd floor. They finally got us in a different room but it wasnā€™t much better but after traveling all day we stayed! The closet doors were nearly falling off, the microwave and refrigerator were worn and not very clean. The bathroom was very unclean specifically the floor and shower. The bedroom door didnā€™t even close all the way, there was obvious water spot damage on the ceiling in the bedroom as well. Our pull out couch had no bedding on it at all, no extra pillows in the room for the pullout couch. Just all around not a clean hotel! The pool liner in the deeper end is tore up and coming up and you can feel water underneath of it. There is a visible large crack and peeling paint in the pool room ceiling that doesnā€™t seem safe. What Iā€™m saying is about $160 a night go ANYWHERE else!! Hope this helps!

This property was older and had a musty smell. Was really taken aback when asked to bring out our old used towels before they would give you new towels for your room. When in all honesty anyone who would want to steal their towels I would gladly give $5 for them to go get a set at walmart which would be better quality. I have stayed at this chain in other cities and haven't had a problem. But they will never see me at this particular one in Merrillville again..

The room did what it needed to do, it was clean. The staff was ok. The breakfast was free but very bland even for continental breakfast. Waffles, biscuits, cereal, doughnut ,yoghurt. Would have loved some eggs or meat

We cancelled our 2nd night's stay. This was a gross experience. Hotel is run down and dirty. Area is sketchy and hard to get to. Do not recommend.

When I arrived, at first look it was nice, but upon further inspection, our remote was chewed up with not back. Literally chewed up. It had bite marks. Dog fur all on the sofa and chairs. And a few stains on the linen and towels. The paint on the bathroom ceiling was chipping so bad it looked like the ceiling was about to cave in. Iā€™ve been to great Country Inns, but definitely this one is unkempt. I eat least the room I stayed in.

I just checked out and I was looking for a nice place to relax for the weekend while my home is under renovations. Honestly I could have stayed home and been more comfortable. My husband baby and I had changed rooms 4times. We looked at 8 rooms. The problem is Mold. Itā€™s real bad and the staff and management are fully aware but there still selling those rooms. Then we were never able to stay in a suite like we booked. We were only given $20 discount from entire stay. Also the bathroom in the 1st room we stayed in have a million pieces of hair all over the floor very disgusting! Iā€™m really hurt my this!!! Please travelers put your health 1st go somewhere else!!!!!
