Great Location
The Sandcastle Inn in Seaside is a conveniently located gem for exploring all that Monterey has to offer. Situated close to various activities and attractions, it provides easy access to the vibrant energy of the area. One of the standout features of the inn is its cleanliness and well-maintained ambiance. The rooms are tidy, and the common areas are always in good order. The staff is friendly and efficient, contributing to a smoothly run operation. However, during our stay, we encountered a minor issue regarding room cleaning. Despite being informed that leaving the "do not disturb" sign off the door would result in room cleaning, this did not happen on one occasion. While this was a small hiccup, it's worth mentioning for the sake of transparency. Overall, the Sandcastle Inn offers a pleasant stay with its prime location, cleanliness, and attentive staff. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking to explore Monterey and its surroundings.

Clean and quaint. Friendly staff. Close to restaurants, walking distance to Costco, Target, Panera, Marshall's, Ross, World Market. Very quiet even though it is sitauted between two main thoroughfares. Just minutes from the beach

Okay for one night.
Welcomed by a really helpful and polite receptionist but also an overwhelming smell of Indian food which was in fact worse on checking out the next morning. The room was clean and bed comfy. Unfortunately the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and room steamed up rapidly when showering. When reporting this to the 'older' receptionist when checking out he just side 'okay' and threw the key card on the desk. So overall for one night it was fine, but would probably look elsewhere next time.

Don’t come here unless you want to get charged.
Been staying here every time we come to town for events etc etc about once a week . We stayed today but they didn't stock up on towels , they only had one clean one , we didn't bother to ask for more because we didn't want to make a big fuzz about it . Next morning came and We left , then received a phone call that we were going to get charged $50 for towels because they thought we took them SMH , they literally didn't stock up on . Most unprofessional thing I've ever dealt with at any hotel . Careful if you stay here . You might get charged for Bull . Make sure to check the owner very UNPROFESSIONAL, make sure everything is stocked up before they try to charge you for things you don't take.

Hotel was clean and updated. My only complaint is that the lights in front of the room are bright and the shutters don’t block out all light. We didn’t use the Keurig in the room but our friends said theirs didn’t work in their room.

Great place to stay, we will definitely go back. The rooms were very clean and smelled nice upon entry. I like the soaps they provide as well. Check in was quick and painless. Room was incredibly affordable too which was great because the room was very luxurious. I think I read that it was newly renovated. The only thing I could complain about is that the shower heat was very low. We couldn’t get it past “warm” so we had quick coldish showers. It was also stuck on shower so no baths. There were also no grippies on the floor in the bath so my toddler fell a few times because of it, but that is all. The stay was fantastic and I plan to stay here again. Also, it’s across from a Tesla dealership, but near a lot of restaurants.

This property is an average budget friendly place that says it's dog friendly. It is not dog friendly. We spent more in hidden fees for the two dogs than we did in the room. On top of that they have no space set up for the pets to be at all. This place did not command the fees paid.

Sand Castle Inn Good and Bad
The ice machine did not work, the air conditioning controls registered error the whole time, and ledges in the bathrooms had clearly not beeen wiped in a long time. However, the room had a fridge, microwave, a comfortable bed, and extra coffees were always available in the main office at any time. Overall, the room was better than average. The location was great - near everything.
