The heated swimming pool, at this time of the year, was an unbelievable surprise. It was unexpected and a delight. The staff was terrific!

Well, first off, I have been coming to this location for 30 yrs. I arrived and was very tired... started the check-in and thought they installed a water fountain - WRONG! There was gallons and gallons of water pouring out a vent behind the front desk. I then noticed all of the caution cones and the inch of water all around. Well, I tried checking in and my room was not ready. OK, not happy but a lot of the staff came up for hugs and handshakes.... I went to pool bar and saw a lot of staff that remembered me. Still very tired... I was notified my room, which I asked not to be on the pool side, was ready. I took my bags up to the room and I walked in on a couple in bed... NICE! I went back and told them this and had to wait another hour for what...? A POOLSIDE ROOM VIEW! I just wanted to rest. The staff is GREAT the place is not really a great place to stay any longer - it looks run down. The last thing I will say is the customer service desk, this time, was useless. After 30 years, I will explore other options next year.

I enjoyed my stay at the RIU, even though its a smaller RIU resort, it was comfortable. Amazing view, great service and delicious food! My favorite was the Jerk Hut. One thing that I noticed was our room was very moist and humid instead of a fully air conditioned room. However, I would recommend this hotel! Also very easy to get safe taxis outside the resort :)

Had an amazing stay at Riu, staff was amazing and so fun, the ocean is beautiful and so refreshing. The beach was very clean with nice sand. The rooms were a little run down but not too bad for the price we paid. The food was good the buffet was our favorite but the restaurant were beautiful and the food was good. The sports bar was a nice spot to hang out once the pool bar closed, the pools were a little too warm a couple of the days but they are very nice and the pool bar was so fun. Everything was very clean all the workers were very clean. Definitely recommend staying here on a low budget, it’s more then worth it!

If you’re considering this property, do it. A very pleasant time awaits you; friendly & helpful staff, fun, entertainment. The food is very tasty, plenty of menu choices at all times. The rooms & beds are very comfy, clean, & spacious. The view is absolutely gorgeous!

Ok how do I explain this !!! Property is ok not great but no complains here. Staff are hard working and very courteous. Some may have a rough day but again no complains here. Food can be improved and can do wonders for this property. Everything is just about right but ypu leave this place unsatisfied. When this kind of situation happens , it indicates that management needs a change. Leadership is lacking. It’s definitely not a RIU experience..

My stay was phenomenal, the staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help they went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had a very enjoyable experience since it was our wedding anniversary. My room was spotless with a stunning view of the ocean, well decorated with a beautiful cake to wish us happy anniversary. They sent many stuffs to my room to continue to wish us happy anniversary. Marco the manager at the seafood restaurant is truly a gem, we didn't have a reservation, he make sure to accomodate us, he's truly one of a kind. They had entertainement by the pool side everyday, the food choice at the buffet was excellent with variety to choose from. All in all, my stay was amazing, Riu is a true paradise i can't wait to return.

My first stay here was in August of 2022. Although the property is a bit dated, the staff and food was amazing. I especially enjoyed the conch fitters. Being back in December of 2024, there was noticeable changes in the dining. The food used to be better, but I also didn’t enjoy the fact that I checked in on a Friday afternoon and wasn’t able to reserve any restaurants until Sunday and Monday. Everything was booked on the app so I had to dine at local restaurants in the area which were fantastic, my favorite being Mackenzie’s. Besides that, the beach is great, the staff is great, and the resort is really clean.
