Full of large tour groups
Aliz Times Square primarily caters to large tour groups, but the staff seems unprepared to handle them. The small lobby becomes so crowded that getting in or out of the building is difficult. This is further complicated by non-guests who line up to take the elevator to the 40th-floor lounge in the evening. Only two of the three elevators were working during part of my stay, and the whole situation felt very unsafe to me.

Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. They made my stay really enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean. We even had a nice view of the city street from up on the 38th floor.

Check in was lousy. From out of town, but forced to wait an hour to get our room. The into 4th floor room on floor with no other occupants, looking out to see only a garage or storage building. And into a drab, antiseptic room with NO written info about hotel amenities, services or policies. Disgusting!!!

I really enjoyed the customer service and location! You receive drink tickets and a $25 token to use at the restaurant and bar DOWNSTAIRS IN THE LOBBY. I put it in all caps so you understand the difference since I noticed so many people were confused including myself. I will be making this one of my hot spots to stay at when I come back to New York! I was literally 7-10 minutes away (walking distance) from all the shows and concerts I wanted to go to.

Awful…
One of the worst hotel stays ive ever had. We were told a month in advance that we’d at least have rooms on the same floor - didn’t happen. Rooms were 16 floors apart. Huge problem. Was told I’d get a call from management, still waiting on that call 3 days later. Elevators are pretty much a death trap, the majority of the stay 2 out of 3 of them were broken. Someone got stuck in one of the elevators for over an hour. You cannot go up in floors in the elevator - so when they separate your family 16 floors, you have to ride all the way down - which takes a minimum of 10 minutes…to then go back up. Place was just awful. Staff is useless and unhelpful. Don’t stay here, find somewhere else. You’ll save yourself major headaches.
