I have stayed in countless Fairfield’s by Marriott in CA and they are excellent. So with previous experience and pictures on website I thought it would be a good fit. There are 3 hotels right next to one another on a small piece of property and the hotel next to Fairfield had its “extended staying” guest in the party lot at 10pm drinking and listening to music out of the back of a small SUV. The room was in worn down condition. Carpet looked very worn and metal shower soap dishes were rusty and where mounted there were screw holes cracked and broken in tile. Which means water and moisture were getting in, which means there had to be mold behind the wall. The rust is proof it’s a long standing issue. Hotel and premises I would give 3/10. Staff I would give 10/10. If it weren’t for the staff this hotel would be out of business for sure.

Front desk staff was on phone on personal phone call on our arrival and remained on the phone initially for a minute as we approached the desk. Shower soap holders (both holders) hanging off the wall with screws exposed. Loud people in hallway at midnight. Not what i would expect from a marriott quality hotel

We liked this property is was great for what we needed. The one downside was the guest laundry facilities. Either the washer was malfunctioning and did ring out the clothes they way it should or the dryer was malfunctioning and it wasn’t drying clothes they way it should. It took 4 cycles in the dryer to dry our load for $8. We spent $11 to wash a single load of laundry.

Although Hotels.com advertised "free wifi" there was no such "free wifi" unless you were a member of the Marriott reward program.

There was excessive noise throughout our stay. When someone used the bathroom in the neighboring room, it sounded as though my head was right next to their toilet. No noise insulation. Our door was installed in a way that it was about an inch away from the door jamb causing more noise from the hallway and a lot of light entering. There were washer/dryers in the hallway and someone was using them in the middle of the night so we had fun listening to that noise, too. Also, the room was tiny! One desk clerk was so uninterested in her job, it was like pulling teeth to get any information out of her and she didn’t even tell us that we had to reserve the shuttle for the Staten Island ferry even though I mentioned what a great service that was. As such, the shuttle was full and we had to take an Uber back or lose 2 hours. Thankfully there was one employee, Arnay, who was incredible. So, would I recommend the place—no.

Area unsafe, dirty, noisy, no parking. Staff buried in phones, not attentive at all. Lobby bathroom had no toilet paper. Garbage cans in front overflowing with trash. People partying in rear parking area till passed 3am. Smokers in front of building. Only good thing rooms were clean.

The Internet did not work. They told me to come downstairs and none of the containers in the bathroom had any soap conditioner or shampoo in it they were all completely empty. I called downstairs to the desk. They said they would bring it up and never did.
