The check in was good. However the room was very noisy with night club noise and adjacent rooms noise ongoing till late night. The manager was informed but no action taken. The rooms were otherwise clean

The Hotel is really nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only issue was with the wedding party being in the rooms adjacent to us, starting at 6am on the Saturday morning. The constant chatter and excitement is understandable, but they had their doors wide open so we were disturbed from that point on. Not the hotel's fault but presume as it's a wedding venue, this could be a consideration when deciding where to stay in Newcastle in future.

The property is really pretty and in a good location but I paid for this hotel to get free parking. Instead I was told the parking lot was full and asked to pay extra to pay outside. This is not acceptable by any rationale. The room service and reception desk line just rings out. I finally ordered room service at the front desk. It took them *35* minutes to call my room to tell me that what I requested was not in stock. Then I was charged £14 for (literally) a plain cheese sandwich (cheese and bread) and fries. Which took nearly an hour to prepare. Mad. They did offer me free chips for the delay. But this experience would sour me on staying here again or recommending. Staff were mainly very very young.

Book hotel - not apartments
We booked the apartments; however would book at the hotel next time because the apartments were not actually at the hotel - you had to walk quite a bit down the road to reach them. Accommodation had comfy beds and was quite large but other things were not that great. The shower flooded if it was on more than a few minutes, the living room was very basic; just a small kitchen, TV and couch. No breakfast included in price. Snacks in room very expensive.

Disappointing service at check-in
Their check-in desk service is always disappointingly slow. Always unavailable. Either the staff is on the phone or they took a long time to sort out a customer’s request and unable to assist other customers’ request first which can be resolved in a much quicker manner. Always a long queue. Their slow service at the check in made me late to my meeting. A lot of faff about taking deposit and the release is slow after check-out. Booked for 2 nights at the hotel. Got thrown to the apartment for the first night and move back to hotel the second night. Had to leave the hotel building in the rain and walked back and forth to and fro the hotel and apartment. Somehow they mistakenly locked the I do not like to use this hotel while on business. It doesn’t make things easy for me. Certain staff is unhelpful. The rest of the hotel is ok but is aging. Much prefer other hotels on the quayside.
